Jeff Grubb reiterates that the PlayStation Showcase is happening this month

Did anyone else talk about the supposed Sony show besides Grubb?
Shpeshal_Nick, Xboxera founder, is other one that mentioned "a Sony event around the 28th". It's worth mentioning that like Jeff Grubb he has been wrong many times "leaking" supposed State of Plays and showcases that didn't happen and supposed announcements in them that also didn't happen.

As if they wanted to overhype Sony fans to get them later dissapointed once they see that didn't happen.

Most of the talk - outside of Grubb - coming from reliable places over the last couple of weeks has been centered around actual, imminent game announcements (Astro Bot, Concord, Gravity Rush 2, Horizon franchise...), which would suggest an incoming event given the volume of news, rather than on precise details on a Showcase or State of Play.
The Gravity Rush 2 and Horizon weren't reliable. Astro is possible because of the time they released their previous game, and Concord (same as Until Dawn remake) is obvious because the game is supposed to be released this year and they still have to show gameplay and release date. Convallaria and Lost Soul Aside should be there because also are 2024 titles.

I think it was mostly guesswork... Sony had a showcase May last year therefore they will have one May this year. That's why I personally guessed May 29th, because they had it on a Wednesday in May last year.

Time for me to got Colt's YouTube channel and spam him with comments like: "Please tell me you'll continue to defend Xbox against PlayStation, even if that means lying."

Ok, you don't have anything proving that was the game they were referring to though...

Not even one tweet states THAT was the game they were talking about man.

Let it go.
Yes, already provided it: the GoWR game credits show that their entire dev team (who is available in Linkedin) moved to GoWR after Demon's Souls and the personal Linkedin of most of them (who have it updated it) show they worked on GoW pretty much until was gold/its release.

They didn't have people free to work in another game being developed at the same time, and even less to lead it. It's basic logic.

And their project after GoWR can't be a game leaded by them unless it's a remake / remaster, something their boss said they stopped making because they miss several roles needed to lead their own AAA game, even if they hired in a handful new roles.

Yes, last year was in May, in 2022 there wasn't showcase, there was a September one and I think one or two years more were in May. But other than that, always has been in June. So I always guessed that June was more likely.

The Gravity Rush 2 remaster was leaked by a source in the GR community that had accurately anticipated news relating to the franchise for a while now, even the fact that the movie project would make an appearance at Sony's CES conference this year. I'd say its reliable and just makes fucking sense given the fact that even Until Dawn is getting remade so that they'll have something to go alongside the movie.

Regarding Horizon, I'm extremely positive about the existence of this project, even outside of it being mentioned in the XDEV document or Zero Dawn: Complete Edition leaving the PS Plus Extra catalog last week in the midst of remake rumors of that game. Also, Colin Moriarty, VGC and others corroborated the existence of a Zero Dawn re-release a while back.

What it's possible to be shown from Horizon is a project that really exists: Horizon Online, a game that has been in the works since 2018.

They add and remove several games from PS+ every month, that doesn't mean they will get a remake or remaster.

Before the CES the Gravity Rush adaptation was already officially announced, and in previous CES editions they already shown adaptations of games in CES. So a member of a Gravity Rush fans group guessed that they were going to show the GR adaptation in CES. That was just a lucky guess snd a normal one from a GR fans group.

Helmet should show something first to get the respect, it's not the other way around.
i mean he was in charge of Guerrilla and that transition between KillZone and Horizon. also the evolution of guerrilla's engine to Decima and subsequent partnership with Kojima.

that's impressive.

I'm talking about showing something as the head of playstation, show some games, i know he did good in the past but now he has a different role and i'm gonna judge him for that.

Also, i don't really like to over-praise a single man for a team effort, he probably didn't had anything to do with the story of horizon nor the combat and i doubt he was the one that alone coded the decima engine, i like to praise guerrilla as a team, not just the director.

Jeff grubb isn't reliable and shouldn't be trusted with leaks anymore. There was that one time where he leaked a bunch of dates for multiple shows back in 2020 iirc that turned out to be very accurate, but since then he's 50/50 at best. He's guessing and doesn't actually know anything.

Woof.

I'm talking about leadership. at least this is his track record. because the opposite is true as well then:

We can't throw shit at a guy we won't know what he's done. AND I'm sure that he is not the only one making decisions

so. there you go.

Fuck off with that cocky attitude of yours.

"An Horizon project that really exists", dude are you really going to go that against the wind and doubt, first, Tom Henderson and, second, Kurakasis who actually found trademarks, domains and other shit confirming a LEGO Horizon project?

And as for the Zero Dawn remake, I've never seen something so widely reported and leaked over the years, including development materials that sparked the initial reporting on it. Are you really going to doubt the existence of that?

Jeff Grubb is reliable on certain things but he's the worst kind of leaker because he spreads a lot of bullshit out there too, like a new Sly Cooper developed by Sucker Punch

Was right all along.
And hey these things are fluid. Im sure there is room for error when it comes to trying to lock in dates like these.

I tried to find Lego Horizon Adventures trademark and didn't find it anywhere. Kurakasis said doesn't know if it's a videogame (maybe if it exists it's another Lego Horizon set, a movie or a Lego Fortnite DLC). Totoki said this fiscal year they won't release sequels of their super seller IPs, which includes Horizon.

I found instead the Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet filled back in February in US or Australia:

It could be Cory's new IP or the 2nd party "goo game".

And also a recently filled "Astrobot" (no subtitle) filled back in August (different than the previous Astro's Playroom and Astrobot Rescue Mission):

I assume it's Team Asobi's next game. I think it's more likely that both could be announced before than any non-trademarked game.

No, there's a show where Astro Bot, Concord, Gravity Rush 2, the Horizon games and others are going to be shown. All of those reveals are imminent, and none of them would take place at a Sony Group powerpoint presentation.

Gravity Rush 2? Again?

Was right all along.

Imagine guessing when Sony will show their games off during the SUMMER OF FUCKING GAMING. What a genius he is...

Some people were doubting his words on a PS event being shown in May though
Because he is wrong more often than right. He has made numerous claims that never came to pass - which is exactly what these folks do. They throw shit at a board and ride the high of when they finally get something right while dismissing what they got wrong.

He's right here.

Plus take it with a grain of salt

Also dates could change

Not to mention...well just know I can never be wrong if I cover my butt with all these sayings!
