1. What is the console auto-spectate code - I can't watch games live but want to win sweet tourney items from work?
Valve has implemented a handy check box to auto watch every match.

2. Quick! When is the next match?

3. How long is a match?
The drafting/loading stage takes about 10-15 minutes - the acutal game itself can be 15-90 minutes long. So give or take 25-100 minutes with smoke breaks inbetween.
Phase 1 is Bo3
Phase 2 is Bo1
Phase 3 and 4 is Bo3
The Grand Final is Bo5

4. What's a dota?
Dota is quite complicated to explain in a few sentences, please check out the wonderful Dota OT by Artanisix for more information

5. I've never watched dota before - what's the big deal?
-Watch "the play" from TI2012. This is the climax of a game.

6. Should I buy a compendium?
Yes! Support e-sports. $10 gets you a fantastic value: 2 free couriers, wallpapers, immortal items, battle bonus

7. I'm a total dota noob - can I ask questions here?
Feel free - the dota vets will be happy to answer your questions. The Dota wiki is also a quick reference that even the pros use.

8. Any storylines to follow?
- CIS have not received thier visa's to compete
- Fnatic tried to kick one of their players over anxiety issues, he emailed Valve and said he was ready to go, but they have been using a stand-in for over a month
- Racism claimed by DK noting that only CIS and VG will scrim with them because they are not a 100% Chinese team forcing them to scrim and practice with EG
- Popular caster Draskyl rejected his invitation to TI4 due to lack of respect of the quality of games he would be able to cast
- Who will cast the finals?
- Will China avenge TI3 where no Chinese teams where able to beat Alliance.

9. Should I enable twitch chat?
No. Kappa.

10. Shoot, I missed the matches where can I watch the games?
Youtube and TwitchTV links will be posted below as they happen - Dota TV in-game are usually available for download 10 minutes after the game ends
 
That is expensive, I was thinking about attending, but only if I get lucky and get at least 3 tickets.

The resale value is going to be insane...
 
Hyped. I don't really watch or play Dota 2 anymore but this is always a special event. Probably heading to my friends' place to watch the final rounds with them.
 
Autographed and secret shop items can return back those ticket prices easily. You'll end up with a profit as well.

I called Key Arena and she said Floor can't sit in GA (makes sense given seat limits, but hey)

YOU BASTARDS BETTER GO FLOOR ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE [EXPERIENCE EXTRAORDINAIRE OPINIONS]

  • no leg room key arena non floor seats
  • tilt your head on the side GA seats for 8 hours a day
  • sit far back if you dont want to head tilt
  • calculate your trip cost come on it's like 20% more for something you'll look at for 20+ hours
  • muh viewing experience
  • If you do need a GA seat, you can just trade or sell your shit on craigslist anyway
  • You can sell the dota items and signatures you get for like $800, this trip is free anyway yo
As a Seattle resident who has been to the key arena multiple times.. floor seats will be worth it, the GA seating is SUPER steeply tiered, and very small seats with little legroom.

Yeah okay, I'll go floor.

Sucks floor can't go to ga (i'd expect ga to not be able to go floor obviously, but figured hell why would they stop you if you wanted worse seats?) so I'm in for floor it looks like.

It honestly depends how close it gets to sold out I think, I'd be happy if there was leeway if there were like 25% unsold GA seats, but at Worlds it was assigned seating and 100% full.

For reference here was my LoL seat (Two tiny screens in the far far back which were useless):

I don't think the Dota loot is going to be worth a ton this year. I mean, there is 10k people going, you will likely just eek out like $200 to cover the ticket price.

I think a lot of us are going to get stuck with GA, I just don't see Floor Seats lasting.

TRADE UP. So you are aiming for floor, got it, good.

And yeah, you are probably right, but given the extra room and time I feel like it should still be worth it to get signature zapped and such.
 
fucking bots, i thinks this is worst than valve servers. if someone gets floor tickets buy 2 more ill pay up.
