Does anyone know if Gamestop is going to hand out the game early, like they did with Uncharted? Or will Sony stop them because there is an online component in this game?

Again, props to Alba for creating an amazing theme. If you haven't checked it out yet I definitely recommend it. It's one of the best themes out there, and I'll be using it for a long time.

so stoked to finally get albas theme up on my ps3. I was hoping that chirp sound would be somewhere in there though. If you could put that in there that would be awesome. but anyways... theme is great and im using the badass wallpapers too

Awesome vids. It looks like Warzone is going to be a lot of fun. R2's Skirmish mode was pretty much the same thing and I loved it.

Alba: Excellent job on the theme. You really went into a lot of detail to get the feeling of the menus and the game in there. I'll be keeping this one for a while.

Warzone is a lot more fun than Skirmish. For one, it is structured a lot better. And two, the maps are all designed to play off the strengths of each game mode independently and collectively, with the effect being it actually enourages people to work as a team and focus on each objective rather that just go off and do their own thing. Plus, rather than arbitrarily being designated a squad, you get to form your own squads and classes and work together as you see fit (you can leave your squad at any time as well).

Think of Warzone as a taster's pack of game modes. You pick a map and then cycle through all of the different game modes on that map. There are 5 different modes, but a full Warzone will play to the best of 7. The team who wins the most modes gets a 1.5x boost to their experience gains at the end of the match. Then you move onto another map and do it all over again.

A Warzone match will last about 20 - 30 minutes but you will probably want to play a few maps in succession. It really doesn't ever seem to get old!

That sounds great, especially the team winning bonuses. I'm usually not one to rake in the kills so I tend to go for objectives and my team does well. The bonus will really help me level up.

^ I have to agree the MP vids are fucking amazing!
I just got done playing COD4 and then the KZ2 demo; the gunplay, animations and physics is killing everything out there period. Not to mention the amazing visuals, I just don't get how some reviewers are not floored by this title.

I just can't wait to dig into the MP component of the game and hope the modes & maps remain fresh over the long haul. Also, I'm hoping they give us some good DLC maps with varied environments and map types.

Yep, you can download the theme from the ps3... highlight the theme with the cursor and hit the triangle button, click file, and then click save target. You can do that for all video's and whatnot that the ps3 supports.

I think I'm going to stop myself from reading this thread, or joining in any KZ2 related discussion until after I play the game at this point.

I don't want any more of the game spoiled, for one. But also, I think that at the moment, if I were to play KZ2, I would be playing a discussion point, rather than an actual game. Hopefully giving ~2 weeks of a cool down from general KZ2 talk will allow me to go into the experience in a [slightly] less tainted way.

I just finished watching the giant bomb quick look for Killzone 2 multiplayer. I didn't know that the engineer can put down 4 sentries at a time. How does the disguise for the saboteur work (is it time based)?

4 sentries per team if it hasn't changed, so if you're the only engineer and your timer recharges enough while your turrets are still alive, you can do it

No.

You lose the disguise when:

-- You hit an enemy (not necessarily kill him)
-- You are hit by an enemy (or a buddy if FF is ON IIRC)

Enemies can spot your real identity when:

-- They point at you at close distance (name above head turns red/real)
-- They use the Spot and Mark ability (you still look friendly, but you are marked as enemy. This only applies to the guy using the S&M ability. I'm not sure how that info is communicated to the rest of the team tho. Perhaps marked enemies appear as red dots on radar even when not firing?)

Side note: a disguised Saboteur doesn't show up on the radar as friendly (green dot).

As for the sentries, yes, you can place 4 of those, but that number is shared by the whole team so you can't have more than 4 active turrets simultaneously, no matter the number of engineers. For example, if there are like 3 turrets already deployed by others, you can only deploy 1. Same rule applies to flying drones and spawn grenades.
