Seriously though I applaud them for just not copying the grren dragon poly build and doing it different. Aesthetically I prefer the look on this build. Except the nose, he was getting into the garbage again.

We never find out till last minute and they vary. I cant remember any recent standout sales you couldnt find elsewhere. The last truly great one was the UCS Bwing for half off. Just set your expectations on sales on older sets to clear room for their new stuff.
The freebies are usually the highlight but honestly this years is pretty lacking to me. I liked it better when the freebies were basically like the two seasonal they are selling this year. Or something like the gingerbread house, that was cool.
Fucked up my OS on my main computer, been spending the day trying to recover it, finally just built a new install usb drive to reformat and reinstall windows. I should of been proactive because all the signs of an incoming blue screen of death were there and I probably could of saved the few things I do keep on the OS drive :/ most stuff I keep on other drives for this reason. I just hope all my playlists are on a separate drive with my music, although I should be able to recover them using a program to pull it off my ancient ipod. Ugh. Anyways, I was supposed to be working on LEGO for the upcoming museum show.

I am hoping for a deal of the WV Toy Shop since it was already on sale on July and suppose to retire but I guess it is all I want. Of course it is unrealistic to expect deals on newer sets, like NC 😞
Do you already have the Toy shop? It's two Christmas's old so if not your playing a tricky game with availability. Discounts are great but be careful. I know it got flack for being a re-release but since I didn't have the first one I really liked this set. The shop is great but I really wanted that giant xmas tree for my town centerpiece.
I finally got a chance to mess around with it for a little while. I didn't get a chance to really do much but I'm pleased with how it looks and runs so far. It's a good time waster like I was hoping but with Mario and FE Warriors this month and LSH 2 next month I'm not sure how much play it's gonna gstill.

Nope I just started to collect the WV sets. Have the Winter train and the Santa Workshop, but foolished did not buy the Toy Shop on the last sale. I can get it here even if it vanish from S@H but at a higher price. Thing is if I want it for this Xmas display I cannot import from US anyway, so maybe my display will be just the Workshop with some touches and play the waiting game until Black Friday.

Only if sales are really doing poorly on it and they produced a huge inventory of them. My guess it may see a 20% eventually, but probably after xmas season. DP is 10% off and if it overlaps with a good free promo item, it's about as good as 20% sale.
EDIT: Forgot it is DP with this as promo item. Might be able to sell promo item for $20 in aftermarket.

The cheapest I am seeing now on ebay buy-it-now is $120. I think eventually it will settle at around $80 which is still salty but it is an exclusive item after all.
Well who is to blame, the scalpers or The Lego Company that let this happen on purpose? Specially at a high desirable character. They know what they are doing it is just free press covarage and screw fans.
I am not against convention/events exclusives but lets do it like a different recolouring/special detail. The way they are handling the Brickheadz line is simply stupid. Want Superman? No you cant. Regular Batman. Dr. Strange? Nope. Black Panther? Nope. Supergirl? Nope. And the list is not small.
These prices will settle, a lot of buyers / scalpers will upload their sets Monday onwards and for a while the supply will be more than demand. If you buy it now you will add to the demand.

To add something to my last comment, the Brickheadz line should be the Lego Funko Pop! Line, cheap and estimulate a collection, not the Holy Graal of Lego Collectors. There is so much more you can do with your lego budget than to invest on it.

It's the weakest of the three so far. Still perfect for kids though.
I am definitely going to be making a purchase this week to get the VIP promo set, but I haven't settled on exactly what yet. Probably the VW Beetle + the winter train station for the easiest path....I'm actually almost caught up on having everything I want of available sets. I also still need to pick up the Carousel and Assembly Square...I'm sort of vibing that Assembly Square may have a surprisingly short life span given its size and "special" status, a la Town Hall (which I missed out on) but I figure not likely in the very near future.

Very slim probably. Personally I'm hoping for a Temple of Airjitzu discount. Set should be about to retire. I'm really on the fence about it, but a discount would nudge me over the edge.
Assembly Square is amazing. You should get it, though I'm not sure it'll have a shorter lifespan.
(VW Beetle is great too btw)
I'm going to get Ninjago City, as double VIP takes the sting out forking out 329 euros for a set. Might get the UCS Snow Speeder towards the end of the double VIP action too, depending on where my finances stand by then. WV Station I'll grab redeeming my points when there is a cool freebee.

Don't be. It's freaking gorgeous on display.
Actually, VIP rebate is 4.8% and 2xVIP is 9.1%.
The way they sell it make it sound like 5% / 10%, but it's a kind of trick.
For example, with normal VIP, you get a 5 rebate on 100 spent, so that's 100 spent for 105 of value.
The difference may be tiny, but for Lego, the 0.9% difference must be huge.
I just wish it was closed... and that I had more display space.

The LEGO Ninjago movie was LEGO Power Rangers. without the proper license, they used the power rangers formula and even lifted a fair bit from the 90's Power Rangers movie.
6 teenagers with attitude, with their colors, on a journey to regain power after their mighty machines are destroyed by a legendary evil
and i really like that. the world needed a good power rangers movie, but as a ninjago movie it was lacking i think

The open back on the buildings doesn't bother me at all, because I never have anyone on display where I can see every side of it. The open side just goes towards the wall.

I still have a sealed Temple of Airjitzu. I can be tempted to trade for the right sets around the same value.
Still available in Europe, but time must be running out. I know some regular stores have it too over here. Hmm, dang... Ill never get the purchase of Ninjago City ànd the temple past the misses

Well the movie isnt doing as well the previous ones, they own the ip and Xmas season is a great oportunity to sell the stock (plus more new sets are coming). I know chances arent that big but I will wait for a NC discount or at least for the Destiny Bounty.

Destiny's Bounty should be easier to find a discount for since most major retailers will carry it. Ninjago City though I think won't see a discount until next fall.

Any chance modulars go on sale? I guess the next one to pick up is Parisian Restaurant, unless they might retire something else first. Assembly Square is the main one I wonder about, with the size and price I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't last as long. At almost $300 I'm going to have to plan that one out a whole lot more though.
