Curious what your gripes are with Hunt.Have to say I'm more intrigued by Marathon because it seems to address some of my gripes with Hunt Showdown
I really like Extraction style shooters and Hunt is my favourite at the moment, but I would love a more dense, action packed game myself, which seems to be what Marathon is offering. As a casual gamer who probably spends not much more then 4 hours per week playing, I just don't always feel like 'sitting in a bush' for 15 minutes straight, just to surprise the team with the bounty.
I also really like the art style and mystery around Marathon. And like mentioned before: the gunplay looks really solid. The downside is absolutely being forced to team up with 2 others, which is in my case always 2 random people, which I also do in Helldivers and Hunt, but it's kind of like a box of chocolates every time..
ARC Raiders is interesting. I don't know how much I would like the third-person perspective in a PvP shooter like this. The vibe is almost the opposite of Marathon, being a gritty realistically rendered world. I was very impressed with The Finals (also Embark Studios), so this team sure has the talent to pull something incredible off. What I find interesting is that the PvE enemies are so different from the players. Most extraction shooters you still fight the same enemies (dudes/robots with guns), but these are like spiders, big spiders, huge spiders, all types of drones and weird orbs.
Exciting times for PvP shooter fans!
