Marathon will be a premium, paid - but not 'full price' - Extraction Shooter with 3 maps at launch

The kicker here is that Marathon is going to launch as a premium product, meaning players will be asked to pay full price. Based on what I experienced and was told, it'll have a battle pass, three maps (with a fourth arriving shortly after launch)

Concord 2 incoming...

Ofcourse it'll have a battle pass as well

My title is wrong its an extraction shooter

So its not f2p lol? Ouch. Well I have no interest then.

My nuanced take is that it looks a bit bland but not hugely flawed or anything. Art design is pretty interesting. Im sure gameplay will be fine. But nothing else is really all that compelling. Being a multiplayer online only game means I won't buy it. And it'll be loaded with macrotransactions.
I think its actually possible this could bomb. It will be an okay enough game but I dont know how it will do sales wise. Im not great at predicting what the masses want. Guess we'll see. I will certainly not buy it.

I'd be fine with $70 with no MTX, $20-40 with moderate TX or FTP with more MTX.

Feel like their needs to be a trade-off in this whole thing. But full price and probably laden with MTX? No thanks..

I would 100% play this. But I would not buy it at $70 - $80. Fuck that. This will be dead in the water if it cost that much. F2P and this game will have a massive audience for at least a few months depending on how they'd sustain the live service model it would be built around.

Nice to joke comparing it to Concord but its just a joke. No way this fails hard.

People will pay for this for sure as many people look at AAA GaaS as their one and done Forever game. Looks very 8/10 to me but better than F2P crap.
Destiny 2 is also NOT F2P, virtually meaningless content in the F2P version of the game so I rather they demand full price.
