Nintendo being tight lipped about the developer as usual, but they’ve at least confirmed that there are some Alpha Dream staff behind this one, which is exciting!
Apparently ILCA has the most ex AlphaDream devs employed, making them the prime candidate as the new developer. Of course, we will not really know who actually developed it until closer to the game's release.

That's what the rumors say

NCL lists it as 10GB for now , as the release date is near ..... sometimes the final game size is smaller

Glad that there’s even one coming as after alphadream folded I thought we’d never see another game in this series again. Personally I think Nintendo should have bought them as it’s clear they have talent and Nintendo trusted them enough with one of their main characters.

Kind of wish Nintendo had remade superstar saga instead of the Mario RPG borefest we ended up getting.

Dang, 10 GB is pretty big for Nintendo game. Looks like it gonna be quite meaty

Sizes of other Mario RPG’s on Switch for anyone who’s interested:

Paper Mario: The Origami King - 6.5GB
Paper Mario: TTYD Remake - 5.0GB
Super Mario RPG Remake - 6.4GB

This is a big boii

I'm still afraid to be excited for this given how the previous entries disappointed, but I can't help but look at the footage shown so far and how promising it looks to be.

I just want unique enemies, unique NPCs, and plenty of things to do and challenge you in post-game. Paper Jam was awful, but it really started to go downhill with Dream Team.

The obsession of 2010-2020 Nintendo with every Mario game needing to be jam-packed with nothing but generic Toads and the Koopalings is so frustrating. RPGs need unique characters and lots of variety. You can't have a good RPG without that.

Seems to be the Nintendo way. They didn't save Cing, but for Another Code they worked with the ex-Cing employee who went to Arc System Works.

They did remake Superstar Saga but it was remade on the 3DS, not Switch. I agree in that Superstar Saga would be a lot more interesting. It is available on NSO though too.

The game looks really charming. I'm not sold on the enemy designs? They're... Audio/video peripherals? It appears that the enemies in the video are like... Male HDMI plugs? And the muscley green guy in the render above looks like a VGA guy with the cap on?

Novel, for sure, but ... These feel like the same brand of forgettable characters from like Super Paper Mario or other games.

It's more like cable/electric stuff. Even the good guys is also electric stuff.

This character is Connie/Conetta in Japan. Her eyes are power socket and her hair is the plug.

Wow, that last trailer looks actually really good. I might actually be buying this one. As someone with an actual brother...quite wholesome...good stuff Nintendo, let's see how it plays.

Game looks really good. Why other devs don't do styles like this?

Because the market wants more photorealistic games?

Personally, I love this style more. They successfully translate the artstyle from 2D to 3D.

YouTube version for better video

Peach and Bowser will appear. I don't know if they're gonna be a party though. Never played the series. Does the party add/change member?
Not typically. If anyone else was playable I’d wager we’d definitely know by now. We’ve had baby Mario/Baby Luigi, Bowser, and Paper Mario as party members in past games, with various gimmicks and gameplay elements tied to them. They’ve all been prominent on the games cover art as well.

Seems like it’s only Mario and Luigi this time. Back to basics.

Nintendo posted a retrospective of the franchise:

I never bothered with the 3DS remakes, but always found it a bit strange that they did the first game and then went straight to the third.

My ranking would probably be:
1. Superstar Saga
2. Bowser’s Inside Story
3. Partners in Time
4. Dream Team
5. Paper Jam

Only roughly a month to go until Brothership!

Well, Partners in time had 4 party members with baby mario/luigi. And paper jam had a 3rd party member with paper mario. Bowser was controllable separately in bowsers inside story.

So not impossible.

I agree, but i still enjoyed Paper Jam for what it was, i decided to give it a chance knowing it was 'nsmb the RPG' with low expectations and surprisingly found it a lot better than Sticker Star(now that was awful)

wich makes Paper Jam a little underrated in my opinion, it was a fun crossover.

Brotherhood looks good so far but im not sure about those electrical cord npcs they look so silly 🤭 i just hope they keep the minigames and filler in check they tend to get annoying in BIS and DT, the last two 'original' games.
