Now that I think about it, there's a surprisingly low amount of returning characters from 3 in that list. Still no Iron Fist? No Wesker? No Phoenix Wright? No Ammy? No Joe? No Tron? No SheHulk?
It would just be Vergil/Wolverine/Doom?
I thought they were supposed to be leaving out those characters just to sell them back as DLC.

Didn't know that. Such a weird choice still. And I'm a green goblin fan lol.
So long as she's a blast to play, they could retool Jill's MVC2 moveset for her and I'll be pretty happy.
Ppl expecting those low tier oldies are crazy. No matter how good the game does, it will NOT have like 30 DLC characters let's be real.
Between the 6 new we already know will come, old favourites and a few more new characters, its already in the 12-18 range which would leave the game at 42-48 chars, and 48 is basically the 50 that ultimate had or the 52 that mvc2 had.
Unless you expect infinite to be the dota of fighting games, guys like Joe, Tron or Taskmaster were doomed from the moment they didn't make the base roster.

To be fair, IF this is true....
I guess its possible some/all of these aren't even for S1 or even possibly 2. Who knows how far ahead Capcom is at the moment in character development.

Especially him AND Lady. Like seriously, can anyone remind me why anyone gives a fuck about Lady? DmC2 sucked ass.
And I'm worried about Green Goblin. I would LOVE if they could pull him off traditionally with his glider, but I wouldn't be suprised if we got ultimate GG or some shit. Then again they did do some amazing work adapting characters in UMvC3...

Lady originated from DMC3, not 2. Plus DmC never got a sequel (DMC = mainline series, DmC = Ninja Theory reboot).

OHHHHHHHH I just googled em. It's been a long time since I played those games. Yeah totally thought she was Lucia. Alright Lady's fine. Trish is the best DMC lady though.

Capcom would have to be run by crazy people if they greenlight a AAA DMC game in this day and age.

I also think Ant-Man is done for. I personally can't think of how to properly execute shrinking in a 2D fighter without it being some dumb gimmick or super/cinematic only transformation.
This Brazilian video mentions "a character we can't mention in the story mode" so 99% it's the Hunter (lol at Capcom pretending everyone already doesn't know) and also Ultron Sigma corrupts a character who you then fight SPOILER
which makes me wonder if there's a corrupted colour tint.
Edit: wait no, they talk about the Hunter later in the video. They confirm it's a female, and they asked the Capcom guy if she's DLC and the Capcom rep said the usual "we can't talk about that. So I dunno what the character they can't talk about is.
Edit: also says Arcade mode is 6 fights plus a mid-boss plus a final boss (so 8, that's what we heard before right?) and they don't say what the final boss is.

...im going to be a pessimist and just assume this is Dark Kingdom and at the time they recorded the video it hadn't come out (even if the video was just uploaded 2 hours ago), but hey, who knows.

We only have one Dark Kingdom stage at the moment, don't we? Not out of the question that there's another that will come later/is in but we don't know about it yet
Yeah and with the symbiote in the background you would assume it would be a Jedah stage in the story, not a Morrigan one... but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
Death probably.
Gobby has already heavily been hinted at by the devs, plus people have wanted him in since the marvel 3 days. So not surprising really.
