Marvel's Avengers |OT| - Dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same

I'm really looking forward to playing this tomorrow. I would play when it unlocks but I don't want to stay up to late lol

Wonder if we can have a Neogaf guild/clan 🤔

I know i can use some friends. I'm not hard-core but I do plan to play regularly and just want to have fun. I'll be on playing on PS. If anyone want to add me feel free, Kaotik911

Yeah I'm more a single player gamer this is the exception but if anyone wants to add me it's the same as my user name here "Hostile_18".

I've seen a few people crying about this shIt and I don't even understand it.

JimSterling actually just made a video crying about it....Because that's what he does...makes money crying about companies making money.

it seems like a awesome system in my opinion....people that play the game wants the company to continue to make money so they make content for the game......and still get all the DLC free.

what do people not understand about this?
Because the system is fucking retarded, and just because you can't see through it doesn't mean others can't.

You can come up with all the mental gymnastics you want, at the end of the day, you are encouraging the devs to essentially introduce grind to pad out the game. That isn't good game design.

Gwow. You mean optional objectives for optional content? When there's still a full campaign and 80 missions you can play? You're right, people need some mental gymnastics to ignorantly be upset about this when they have already told us they're going to be developing free characters and post-game DLC for the foreseeable future and this "grind" is strictly for pretty cosmetics that adds nothing to the game other than looking cool/different.

All the DLC is free....if people can't play because they can't have a certain suit that you have to grind for.....don't play....I don't give a fuck what you do.

you also have plenty of chances to earn credits playing the game.

been playing games for along time and this seems Ike a win/win.

free dlc in exchange for stuff I probably won't even care to have.

if you can't see it....I don't know what to tell you,

Dailies and weeklyes.

I normally only buy physical but I decided to go digital and got the deluxe. I was thinking of getting the physical deluxe from Target but it said 2-3 days shipping. LOL. That defeats the purpose of 72 hour early access. Oh well. So downloading now and will jump on tomorrow.

The graphics are amazing. The beta start isn't the start of the full game 😁

Single player and multiplayer seem separate at the moment.

Strangest thing I noticed so far is that after you leave the park and end up in the car you drive by the same coffee shop, pizza place and Freddys gyros multiple times.

Are we just going around the block repeatedly as they talk?

How far are you? I just got to
Utah Badlands

Still at the beginning taking in all the little details in every room 😂

Meeting Thor for the first time was brilliant. Also checking out all the Avenger arcade games.

I didn't see a huge point in getting the deluxe edition for myself. I'm looking forward to playing it when it arrives in the mail on Friday. I hope we see the industry do something with the X-Men some day.

I was originally going to get the standard physical edition Friday at Target but then realized that that would be over $65 with tax. Then went with digital deluxe for $79 no tax. So really only $15 more. No biggie.

This will make VFXVeteran VFXVeteran happy. I'm sure some of this will be coming to PS5 and XSX as well though.

Yes sir! Yet another next-gen title on the PC front.

Here's what I was talking about concerning R&C deformation and how it disappears (i.e. they aren't real objects at that point).

"The Intel-designed improvements can be divided into three categories. There's enhanced armor destruction, which improves the visual effects as players damage enemies. With the new system, glass shards, metal plates, and rubble that players create through combat will be generated as physical objects, which will, in turn, get tossed around the environment as players and enemies further interact with them.

The two companies say that the more realistic debris will stay persistent longer on high-end machines for added realism. In the same vein, environmental damage caused by characters' ultimate "Heroic" attacks will be amped up, which shockwaves or energy blasts creating more rubble and interacting with the existing debris already present"

Once again.. I stress bandwidth is the key to better immersion and good tech.

Rumor is he's coming as a separate character which is why.

I'm the biggest Marvel fanboy there is and I really didn't get far enough in the demo to know but I greatly disliked the beginning. I'm trying to find any excuse to dive into this but I just can't yet

Oh and it needs to be said, GREAT OP! You're almost selling me something i didn't enjoy so good on you! A major gripe for me is I would play this on PC and I don't even wan't Spider man but it seems lame to not have when I do have a PS4. Damn this game!

Every game is not for everyone but a lot of people enjoyed the beta for many many hours. If you didn't get to the war table I would say you cut the experience too short.

Thank you! It was my first one and put a lot of work into it, so I appreciate that. If you end up getting the PS4 version you're welcome to play with me and the others who already tossed their names out. I could get it on PC but I need Spider-Man, plus my console is just so much more comfortable.

The way they talk about it, it sounds more like a CPU limitation than a GPU one. Of course Jaguar CPU isn't fast enough to continue to do calculations for an increasing amount of physical object debris that can be interacted with. I'm sure bandwidth is also an issue, but it really does sound like you just need more CPU processing for the physics work done here. I think PS5 and XSX should be able to hold their own here since audio and IO operations are offloaded from the CPU so the CPU can focus only on game logic, physics, etc. As far as RnC, the game isn't out yet. It's hard to say whether this was a physical limitation of the hardware or just a gameplay or artistic decision. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as it is a launch window game.

I'd assume they could as well. And yes, the CPU is being used probably for the collision detection. GPU used for rendering the objects and keeping them alive for longer.

Wait and see. HARD. Looks like total trash. Shit will be lucky to get 7s. I wonder how it will play out in its first 3, 6 and 12 months and what PS5 will change. Best of luck to early buyers (do us all good ppl, don't spend any money on boosting).

My anticipation ishad been building all day. Think I'm gong to end up playing at midnight instead of waiting till tomorrow lol

I don't know, pretty much everyone playing it right now says the story is really good.

Still on the fence, please tell me how the co-op multiplayer is when you guys get the chance to play, that is the one thing that will seal or break the deal for me.

Who plays this type of games 4 story? Let alone a story involving Khan and Modok lol. End game and post launch are the only things that matter.

All the people who didn't want this to be GAAS because they hate GAAS can at least have fun with the campaign. I consider it a bonus if both the campaign and the co-op are good.

I'm reading reddit/twitter and they're calling the story a masterpiece.

If you don't like it don't play it? Plenty of other people are loving it right now.

I played the SHIT out of the beta over the weekends and the co-op multiplayer is so satisfying, it's what got me so into the game and got me to make this OT.

On the title screen they spit campaign and Avengers Initiative up and say Initiative is for post campaign. Haven't seen an opportunity to play co-op or multiplayer yet.

Edit:
That awkward drive with Kamala and Bruce is priceless

I am really enjoying the campaign so far. It is a bit linear at the moment and I am not very far into it, but damn the graphics are pretty amazing (Xbox One X) so far and the story is pretty good as well. Might wait on playing MP until I am doing with the Campaign.

I finally got to the war table. Took about 2.5 hours and it says I'm 9% complete on the campaign. It's going to be much beefier than I expected.

This mission I'm about to start says it's a multiplayer mission, so I guess this is where the game opens up.

Wait...so as you are playing the single player campaign, it also includes some MP as part of the campaign? I wonder if you don't want to have others if you end up having AI partners instead. I just got to the part where the girl calls her dad on the pay phone how much farther than that till I get to the War Table?

You can play all co-op stuff with AI except for raids so far.
