It'll take some weekslancubap said:Oh no !
I wan't heard Sony fans say: "PSP wins, DS dies !".
I hope that DS shortages will end very soon...

Sinobi has edited the message
it should be around 100k NDS sold, not 200k
200k is a mistake
so 91000 units sold are correct <---- I mean possible
marc^0^ said:What you should not forget in Sony's business model is that people who buy a PSP as a portable media player also buy a large memory stick. And guess what they'll buy when they want a new camera or camescope? A Memory stick compatible device = a Sony one. I know this strategy worked on me as I chose a Sony camera over a Canon one for this reason . So maybe Sony can take a bigger loss on the PSP after all, as we don't see the whole picture.

At leaat you are taking Sony's downfall better than the rest of the Sony fans.

I would be shocked if Sony is still losing money on PSP hardware. Maybe on the core pack, but this is long gone. The value pack is the only thing that in Japan and has been for months now.
Izzy said:Hahaha - there's nothing to spin - the numbers speak for themselves!
PSP 132000
DS 91000
PS2 80000
360 7000
Easter! :lol

So, Nintendo must produces the Ninendo DS & The Nintendo DS v.2 and probably is one to the production's problems that Nintendo have.
Result: Nintendo DS's sales are very low.
I could see them pushing for a redesigned release sooner now that inventory is low but the reason for the shortages is probably that the platform saw unpreceeded sales.lancubap said:It seems, if we trust Gamesindustry, that the shortages are due also to the fact, that a redesigned Nintendo DS is on the way.

I still hope that Sonyfans will remain quiets.....
EDIT: grammaticals corrections.

The shortage is due to the fact that Nintendo has been selling an insane amount of systems as of late. However, people like Izzy can't quite grasp that concept; he just believes that more people wanted PSPs this week, despite the fact that the DS owns 8 out of the 10 top software spots.

Indeed. I agree.
Has Nintendo say when they will deliver new stock of Nintendo DS ?

Izzy's only muckin about fellas. He's just chuffed this finally happened
marc^o^ said:They could take us by surprise and release a new design. Why? Because DS has momentum, and because it is now sure to be a sound investment. Nintendo went low profile with the DS, talking about "third pillar", almost making damage control when they launched it, when everybody thought it would be crunched by the PSP. My guess is they created the cheapest design they could do, to limit losses in case of failure. Now the DS is successful, they have the opportunity to release a better version of their console, more stylish to appeal to geeks and to the PSP crowd. They won't make as much profit on it as on the 1st version, but they can afford it now they know their bet was right, now they can predict other million sellers in 2006.
