Where are the Zelda #s at?
It's because Nintendo shipped less DS lites and consumer spending has to go somewhere.Endgegner said:Could somebody explain why the psp sold so much better than last week? Increase of ~9000 units without any major game release? Was there a price drop or something? Seems like I am totally missing something...

All systems sold more last week than 2 weeks ago due to Father's DayEndgegner said:Could somebody explain why the psp sold so much better than last week? Increase of ~9000 units without any major game release? Was there a price drop or something? Seems like I am totally missing something...

Shrine of Data used to be quite popular, but it exists only in the archives now.Milhouse31 said:Once upon a time they was a japanese website with tons of sales data for japan ? does it still exist ?

Probably has something to do with the fact that newspapers and magazines cover sales returns and entertainment companies advertise good results in those same publications, all which contributes to big hits staying big.Barf_the_Mog said:Why are sales numbers for Box Office tickets and music CD sales so easy to come by, while videogame sales are kept secret and are sold at a high premium?
Only two different cover arts afaik, which was the case with ToF Vol.1 as well.Kurosaki Ichigo said:As you can see, its going to be extremely front loaded but this time there are 2 versions so I guess its possible.

Just to throw them out, here are a few others I've got bookmarked, though English readers like myself will probably need to use Babelfish to do more than basic navigation.

Damn, I didn't know there were two versions (covers I mean) for the first one.Datschge said:Only two different cover arts afaik, which was the case with ToF Vol.1 as well.
Axord said:When was the last time anyone bought a game because it placed high in the NPDs?
It would be too frequent, and the weekly results almost too predictable.DSWii60 said:Do you think we should have a Media-Create prediction thread like we do with NPD?
TJ Spyke said:I bet some people would if a magazine included sales. People are willing to pay $7 an issue for Billboard Magazine. I bet some people would buy a magazine filled with tons of video game sales (imagine a magazine with hundreds/thousands of game sales numbers every month). NPD could make some good money if they made a Billboard-type magazine every month.
Vinnk said:6. There are far fewer used Xbox 360s in my town this week. Last week you could walk into almost any store and take home a used Blue Dragon bundle. This week, all store have new 360s but a few are sold out of the used ones. The fact that these systems are being played is good news for the gamers but fairly bad news for Microsoft who aren't benefiting from sales of the used units. Of course if these new players keep the 360 after finishing the 2 RPGs there could be some increased software sales for other games, but I have a sneaking suspicion that these are going to be sold back pretty soon. You cannot (legally) rent games or system in Japan. If you could, I predict that 360 sales would be much lower.
donny2112 said:That probably means that new + used 360s sold last week were > new + used PS3s sold last week.
schuelma said:Vinnk, it might be way too early to ask you this, but are you aware of any hype for DQ:Swords? I'm very curious as to how big this will be.
Vinnk said:There are posters up at all stores and pre-order display boxes. Nothing super big yet, but I know for a fact that Wanpaku is planning to have a big display for it coming up soon. I would say the hype and level or advertising will be less than DQIX (obviously) and more than DQM:J. It will be interesting to see how this translates to actual sales.
