Geez maybe NSMB sales in the USA won't catch NSMB sales in Japan. Wow. That is shocking, usually Mario does the OWNZ0RING in the USA.

I dunno. I reckon NSMB will have longer legs in the US than Japan because the DS is obviously catching on a little slower over there.

yeah except japan ds has like 2x the userbase in the us at the moment. though sales in the us will continued years though, i bet it'd about equal if not more in the end.

In the top 30: 18 DS games, 6 PSP games, 5 PS2 games, 1 GBA game.

4 years ago, it would've appeared like this:

18 PS2 games, 6 GBA games, 5 GC games, 1 DC game.

Man, September is going to suck for Japan. Things are finally starting to level out at a "normal" pace after the last few months.

Nice to see Metroid Prime Hunters drop in sales. Maybe now Nintendo'll get the memo.

If there are any errors in the 11-30 let me know.

All the numbers you left out were PSP games according to my sources, which means there were 7 PSP titles in the top 30. This is quite impressive when you consider they're all third party titles. This bodes well for the system's future. I fully expect SE to announce more Final Fantasy titles, including a FFXIII port, for the PSP.

DS domination, nothing new. Although, 8/10 on the top ten is impressive, and ties the record IIRC.

Think it's safe to say the numbers neo are getting are legit, which means the hardware numbers from the other thread are also correct.

But there were only 5 PSP games that bombed horribly. Not 7.

If there are any errors in the 11-30 let me know.

It's as if the third revision of the PS2 came out, but it was a portable with two screens and distributed by Nintendo.

Since again the early software numbers are right, I assume so is the hardware. Minus the 100 or so GBA and Xbox sales.
Pie and bar charts of the week. I now have them by default use the most recent week, but if you want a previous week, just append ?date1=2004-11-29 or whatever. I have from 2003 on. Probably should put 2002 in, even though it's quite spotty.
test9a.php

Earlier I started to work on a line graph, but instead got sidetracked by an idea that seemed more fun. With my pie charts, the main gimmick is that each week a pixel is worth the same amount as a pixel in any other week, with the entire pie varying size. I thought it'd be interesting to keep the pixel worth the same, but show larger periods of time. So here is a big pie chart of 2006 so far. Here is an even bigger pie chart of 2005. And here is a still-bigger pie chart showing from DS launch to present.
