It seems like Yakuza 3 did barely over 500,000 in Japan LTD. Yakuza 4 is already on 474,000 on its second week and is looking to significantly outperform Y3.

All that new install base really did some good.


I'm also shocked at RE5. While the PS3 standard version did 500k just like Yakuza 3, it has garnered another 230k of sales so far from its gold edition re-release. That's almost HALF of the original's LTD! When put together, RE5 has sold 725K, and will most probably overtake the two MGS4 SKUs at 780k!

If I were Namco, my strategy for God Eater 2 would be to make it for the PSP2 and try to release it before a Monster Hunter game gets on the platform.

This way they can be the premier (and perhaps only) option instead of an in between Monster Hunter snack.

There's White Knight Chronicles 2 coming out sometime in Summer. The first one did over 300k.
