I wonder if MH has peaked. It'll be really tough to get those kinds of insane sales again.

Is this just anecdotal or widespread?
My friend in Fukuoka said it was pretty widespread where he visited anyways.

30./00. [NDS] Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth 2 (New Best Price! 2000) <ADV> (Capcom) {2012.01.19} (¥2.100) - 3.485 / NEW
Oh hai. Nice taunt.
And just noticed Famitsu has Vita doing even worse than M-C
Probably in the long run, but it wont be much noticeable on the weekly charts. Price drops are extremely common in Japan, but not many games gets boosted in the weekly charts because of this.Well, with discounts I suppose we could see some better numbers?
Want to be big in Japan? Go digital
British publisher System 3 is making waves in Japan by going digital.
The firms new Japanese office headed by Takeshi Shimizu launched Ferrari: The Race Experience late last year.
It was the publishers first release in Japan, it shot straight to No.2 in the PSN charts for December, and is still hanging around at No.4. Thats despite big name competition from Metal Gear, Daytona, King of Fighters and Metal Slug.
And the company believes digital networks like PSN are key to cracking the difficult Japanese market.
2012 marks System 3s 30th anniversary and you cant get much better than our first Japanese release doing so well, said System 3 boss Mark Cale.
No other independent publisher has ever been able to move into a new territory and have such a success, so quickly. To do this you need to set up a Japanese company, and Takeshi Shimizu and his team have done us proud in making our entry into the marketplace so smooth.
SCEE studio boss Michael Denny added: PSN has proved to be a fantastic distribution channel. And the lower barriers for entry makes it a great way for developers and publishers to launch in new territories.
Don't know about the situation in Japan/US, but here in Europe Bamco are really trying their best to make sure their 3DS software doesn't sell. Ridge Racer 3D and Duel Pen Sports being the exception, but their other releases are rarely seen on storeshelves.Ace Combat is awesome in the worst ways possible. Probably, a combination of little advertising, the demo being playable only three times...and I don't know what else could have brought to such a big fail, to such a complete rejection from the userbase.

no, this is just the beginning.
DCharlie in "predicts Capcom games sales correct" shocker!
(shame i was balls out wrong on all the other predictions lol)
You know even a broken clock is right twice a day, right?
MH is going through the Capcom uber milkage phase and like any Capcom uber milked series it'll fall eventually.
Net sales and operating income in the Digital Entertainment segment totaled ¥53,701 million (an increase of 6.2% from the same period of the prior fiscal year) and ¥12,451 million (an increase of 11.6% from the same period of the prior fiscal year), respectively.
i think they'd have to do something stupid to feck it up - the whole secondary market is there and people are invested. It could and should be the next Pokemon style phenomenon really.
They've been releasing annual sequels and expansions for a while now alongside a tonne of other spinoffs. I don't think Capcom has handled MH as carefully as Nintendo did for Pokemon. It will come back to bite them.

they didn't share any shipments this quarter, no FF13-2 or Type-0 for Japan.
Was hoping we'd get some Deus Ex numbers
At last count is was "over 2 million".
We'll get more numbers in May though. They only report game sales twice a year now.

Well... It's true that since the first episodes, Pokémon start way bigger than Monster Hunter, but from 1998, Nintendo milked the franchise as much as it could.
Having seen the image of known Vita Famitsu software sales through these early weeks quite a bit, this made me wonder how GameCube compared early on.If anything the Vita is performing similarly to the Gamecube at this point.

Yeah, pretty much. There's PSP tier, then Tri tier, and then everything else.
No problem. Not sure when will there be another interesting week. Releases are a bit weak this month. Thanks for the prediction game Road ;D
You're right. I had to make some manual adjustments last week for MHP3rd Best and it was that number there instead of what should calculate the LTD automatically. Thanks!Just Dance LTD number is off btw.

No problem. Not sure when will there be another interesting week. Releases are a bit weak this month.
This week, I actually didn't pay attention, but there were 4 "interesting" releases: NeverDead, Ragnarok Odyssey, PhotoKano and SCV -- a fight for which can sell more than 50k.
Next week, there are 3 games: Gravity Rush, Sumioni and Suikoden something -- again a fight for which has less embarrassing sales, but it might worth a shot, if people are interested. There's still time.
Week 02-13: New Love Plus, Threathryrhethm, Binary Domain, Samurai Warriors 345 Z Special Milk it, Tekken 3D Hybrid -- a bunch of games, but all most likely under 100k.
Week 02-20: Naruto Generations, Idolmaster Vol. 5, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus Extra, Harvest Moon etc. -- as usual a bunch of thing shoved on the last week of the month.
Most seem like a "let's see how badly those will bomb" kind of predictions (at least the PlayStation Family releases).

What is the point of this picture? One game listed as "this weeks ultra-sale" and about US $10 off. All other games at normal price. Congratulations? If you want to run the Vita further through the mud, I could give you some much better pictures.
