Holy crap.
Late 2015: EDF2 (PS4) - 6800yen incoming?
I was saying that if it were to be a PS4 version, it would cost more than 5800yen, but you already changed it to a more likely price.
Holy crap.
Late 2015: EDF2 (PS4) - 6800yen incoming?
They could make a real remake for 3DS, and release it later for iOS (like Dragon Quest and Threayhtum). The main reason is that it would be iOS, and for iOS they decided that a quick remaster would be cheaper and have the same effect.
Holy crap.

It is exotic now when 2/3 of the hardware makers have gone over to x86 hardware. Nintendo would be literally dumb if they tried to go with the PPC hardware route for their handheld when they can get out much more with a ARM CPU

But yeah, why spend a lot of money with real remakes, when you can sell cheap ports and remasters?
Profit wise, they made a smart move. I really doubt the Wii U sales would have vastly increased even if it came out first. The mere fact that the 3DS version was announced would have cannibalized sales, along with the fact that the Wii U is a flop.
Also, the 4DS isn't dropping next year
The result will likely have the 3DS version at 2.5m and the Wii U version at 700k units, meaning more than 3m for a SSB entry; i.e. the best result ever for the franchise.
This is highly arguable.
Lol Nintendo gets money for both of them, how is that a bad move? they make more money by having it on 3DS which is a much bigger market in Japan, as far as money goes they made a good move.
I don't know how much it would have sold. Surely retailers were expecting more (and the publisher accordingly).
so there is your chance to say Vita is doomed
D3 cut off EDF2 V2's selling potential (not that it had much) by talking about EDF 4.1 so much. There's actually more trailers for the latter despite it coming out next year.
Atlus sure fell in love with DLC since SMTIV. Before that they didn't show any interest in paid DLC at all. Even the bonus quest stuff for Persona 2 was all free. But since then we've had...
SMTIV: 3650yen worth of DLC
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax: 13800yen worth of game DLC (Whenever available I counted the cheaper complete packages rather than the piecemeal ones)
Persona Q: 3400yen worth of DLC
EO Untold 2: 2950yen worth of DLC announced so far
Can't wait to see what the DLC for Etrian Mystery Dungeon and Persona 5 are like. I bet Dancing All Night will have over 50 bucks worth of DLC at least, if not over 100 bucks, considering what it is.
UI Skins: $0.99/0.75/£0.59, but free for the first 39 days after release
Costume Modules: $1.99/1.49/£1.19 each
Rhythm Game Songs: $2.99/2.49/£1.99 each
Song Club Season Pass: ($29.99) Will give you access to the entire lineup of post-launch Rhythm Game Songs.
Costume Club Season Pass: ($69.99) Will give you access to our full roster of post-launch Costume Modules.
Publishers do that quite a bit weirdly. Samurai Warriors being a recent example but the stand out for me is Resident Evil 6. They announced it right before Revelations came out and in the UK they were advertising it when Revelations was released(with no ads for Revelations).

Where was FF Explorers in the first day sell through? It's not out yet I guess?
What do you think everyone is queuing for?
FF explorers is probably Rabbids Land. Probably should have just made a new Crystal Chronicles.

They probably should have waited for the game to come out
I went this afternoon to the Pokemon Mega Center Tokyo opening in Ikebukuro (Sunshine City) and...I will try to go again tomorrow after Youkai Watch Party Launch.
People should be lining for Youkai, Pokemon is doomed. It's my chance to get in there!!

you want NoA to be independent instead of a marketing arm.I wonder what Level 5 are spending all their YW money on nowadays?
Huh? I have no idea what you're on about. NoA is an empty shell of its former self. They, along with NoE should be given more responsibilities. They need to be a big part of it all.
Are the rest game breaking like the smtiv dlc?
DQH and Bravely Second were pretty weird. I wonder if SE switched their release dates around.
Edit: PS4 is saved (thank you Shoko-tan).
I don't think there's much to lose here. The 360/PS3 are dying off pretty fast in the West, and they had some good success getting in on the PS3 early and then expanding multiplatform once the Ubisoft deal was up.
Bombas!!!
[PSV] Earth Defense Force 2 Portable V2 - At least not Rabbids Land
I guess my view would be that the Naruto game buying audience pretty heavily falls in the category that would have moved by the time the game comes out and they would gain more by being shiny than they'd lose by missing out on people who haven't moved yet.Yatōkiri_Kilgharrah;143074642 said:This isnt quite true Nirolak.
For the hardcore games sure, but the install base/games with legs they sell a lot still on the PS3 and the 360
Theoretically you could put PPC in a handheld by 2016/2017 but since intel is the only one really providing that hardware it'd be expensive wouldnt it?\I don't think you can actually get a PPC architecture into a power envelope that would be suitable for a handheld.
Like you'd need something at least as big as a laptop battery for that.
I guess if they make their next handheld the size of the Wii U gamepad that's feasible, but it would be kind of impractical.
I personally take "incorporation the Wii U architecture" less literally, and rather they mean that whatever new chipset they choose will have all the hardware features they need to port their internal technology onto the system.
Like, if it's an OpenGL ES 3.0 compliant device, they could take what they've done for the Wii U and port it over instead of having to start from scratch, even if it uses an ARM core and an NVIDIA/AMD/Qualcomm/PowerVR/etc GPU.
Or FFTA3.
I don't think FF Ex will do that horribly though.
This breaks my heart. Half of the BB & P4A crowd seem to not give a fuck about GG. I can only hope that the PS4 version will have long legs for years to come.

The same applies for Persona 4 Arena and BlazBlue, of course both of those are more popular at arcades and on PS3.Yatōkiri_Kilgharrah;143094238 said:Xrd skews to an older audience ( teenagers/ adults) who can freely go to arcades and the console version has on disc dlc according to those who have cracked copies of the game already

Hashimoto says that FF7, Final Fantasy X-X2 HD aren't the only old Final Fantasy games that will be coming to PS4.
That unprecedented SE support!
Ultimately, what are we to interpret about Xrd's sales? I honestly don't know how the "lol one anime game at a time in the FGC" mentality works, if it does at all, over in Japan.
