Kind of feel sorry for them, they haven't had much success outside of Danganronpa recently.
Me too actually. Fair enough they have Terraria, which I had forgotten about, but all their original franchises seem to have depleted a lot lately.
VLR underperformed; Conception -> 2 showed no growth despite going multi-plat; Kenka Bancho showed big decline (looks like the IP reaching the end of its life, unless it's going to continue on being more niche than it was); Way of the Samurai -> Ukiyo completely cratered.
I do wonder why they didn't use the Samurai name for Ukiyo, but I guess they couldn't get Acquire back to develop (since they're now under Gung Ho) and decided to reboot.
Virtue's Last Reward... Well, it did sell well in the West, but in Japan...
Is that enough for them though? I mean, I don't fully understand how it works, but it doesn't seem like they'd be getting a massive return from that. Do they get paid per copy shipped abroad or do Aksys bid a one-off fee for the licence and then reap any profits from those regions?
Attack on Titan sold 300k + 70k with the expansion.
Forgot about that one. They were devs + pubs of that, right?

Their biggest moneymakers now are probably contracted development (Mystery Dungeon, Fossil Fighters, etc).
Yeah, Shiren really fell off.
They also developed J-Stars for Bamco, I think. But isn't contractual work just a set budget + fee for development and any profit from good sales going to the publisher?
I mean, they could certainly live off that development, but considering where they were a few years ago with multiple healthy franchises of their own, it seems like a step back.
