Another Metroid would probably sell less than 45K first week in Japan.
Sure, but would probably help the WiiU, especially over here.

That's true, but I really don't know what other popular franchises Nintendo would logically hand them. Them working on a platform like DK which was already a somewhat western series due to Rare makes sense, but most other things I could see them working on wouldn't be too popular in Japan.I don't know, did anyone really see them on DK even 5 years ago?
Given how the Wii U is selling I don't think a new western would've made much difference.I disagree, a new high budget triple A IP would do wonders, especially helping those WiiU install base numbers. As it is DK will do absolutely nothing for the system.
Lol DK next week is going to be hilarious, 45k, and I will be in heaven, fu Nintendo for making Retro waste their talent on a uprez DKR that no one asked for in the first place, dat David Wise tho.
It doesn't matter if PS4 has a mediocre launch. It will eventually sell because Final Fantasy, MGS, Kingdom Hearts aren't going anywhere else. It's pretty much impossible for it to fail in the long run because those games will move systems.
Yes Vita hold on till your bro (PS4) gets there
Even though it won't do much
FF, yes. The rest no. And you can throw Yakuza, Biohazard, Tales and now GTA in there as well. These aren't going mobile or 3ds as they sell in the west. The PS4 is totally safe.Aren't pretty much all in decline? Couldn't we have said this about Nintendo's many much larger franchises?

Edit: hmmm now I've engaged my brain that doesn't seem so likely, it would need to sell 3million+.
Yakuza is bomba everywhere, Tales is on Vita and 3DS and 3DS has already two Biohazards..
Would've done 34k ltd and a 3k bump in hardwareSure, but would probably help the WiiU, especially over here.

Yeah.
3DS will outsell PS4 for sure.

So everything went down except 3DS, that is good But Nintendo must do something with these low 3DS sales :/
Yeah, all the reason to rise to heaven when a fantastic game made by talented developers and with an incredible soundtrack fails. Have fun up there.
No it's not, not mainline games, spinoff and inferior version.Yakuza is bomba everywhere, Tales is on Vita and 3DS and 3DS has already two Biohazards..
It does well in Japan iirc.

I'm rooting for the PS4 in Japan, but I can see the writing on the wall atm. It'll start well and crater until more appealing titles come out. It's obvious Japan isn't a huge priority for Sony right now and Japanese developers are seemingly comfortable with the PS3, so it'll take a while before PS4 gains traction - if at all.PS4 are going to fail in Japan after first week, Sony knows it, we kno it.
And the "poor" launch titles aren't the only problem.
It's a paid demo. And it will do just fine since it's launching on 3 consoles at least.I have a feeling that Ground Zeros is going to bomb hard.
I wouldn't expect much from it personally.
Could have sworn its managed bad even in Japan. Thank you. Mixed it up.
PS4 must help itself first. I checked launch titles and they are pathetic.
Quality of sales threads have taken quite a dive ever since the stupid WiiU-Vita "fanboyism" started :|

No, but those won't be significant figures. And these aren't low numbers at all. A remake of a spinoff is a different thing to a remake of a mainline installment, or a brand new Monsters game, or...a brand new mainline game. Do people think anything named Dragon Quest is an automatic million seller?DQ sales seem low. Do these include digital? Anyway, 3DS is staying pretty solid, which is good. Vita is being a vita, and Wii U is.. .well... yeah.
Wonder if the rumors about PS1-PS2 emulation on PS4 were aimed at combating that. How robust is the used market for old PS games?
I know, and its so dumb too. Both systems are struggling mightily, and dying in front of us. And we're arguing who is dying slightly less faster.
That's what people said about PS4/Xbone before their western release.
Neogaf really overexagerates importance of exclusives and start lineups in initial months.
People buying console in first months are buying them for their future potential or because of proven track record with their predecessor.
Those two were expensive with massive competition among actual handicaps(both losing exclusives left and right), something the ps4 does not suffer. The idea is that there is no other option other then ps4 for gamers.People didn't buy the PSVita it came off the PSP in Japan. The PS3 didn't exactly sell gangbusters in Japan to begin with. There's a lot of logical reasons why people are worried.

Even though people were disappointed with Tropical Freeze most would also agree that it is a very well made game and that DKCR was one of the better 2D platformers ever made. You can lol all you want but DKCTF is the highest selling game that Retro could've possibly made. No metroid, new ip, zelda, etc would've sold better.Lol DK next week is going to be hilarious, 45k, and I will be in heaven, fu Nintendo for making Retro waste their talent on a uprez DKR that no one asked for in the first place, dat David Wise tho.
DQM didnt do much for 3DS, nice hold for Vita and lol@WiiU.
Next week WiiU bump will be amazing from 8k to 11k.

As opposed to ¥60,000(ps3)? Yes. The Wii U started at ¥35,000 btw.Isn't PS4 41,000 Yen in Japan?
Yakuza isn't a bomba franchise, and the two other franchises you listed sell considerably better on home consoles than handhelds.
The whole Japanese industry is depressing and f2p gaming is on the rise.
Vita must be the only console that is stabilized and keeps dropping week after week.

Did you really think that a Metroid game, is going to sell more than a DK game... especially on WiiU?Sure, but would probably help the WiiU, especially over here.
