I think I'm going to say fuck it and go to trade school, become a welder, HVAC tech, automation tech, or something and just say fuck off to all the politics. I've got until the end of the year to decide but yeah, I think I'm done with my current employer unless this director gets shitcanned by then.

I'm really happy with my current job but did waste a solid 6 years at university studying criminology/specialized education with no degree attained.

Our collection of teams has one guy who has been a consistent dickhead to everyone, for years, while not being a performer or even particularly good at his job, but for a variety of reasons (mostly because he has a few disabilities and was good friends with an old manager who has since left the company) has managed to stick around for years.

I feel that pain. The tech world is riddled with cock sucking fucks who are leeching like $160k - $200k salaries while not doing shit but angering everyone around them. One of the last major pains in this trade of ours.

You just described one of my coworkers who is the most incompetent clown. He's been at my company for over 12 years and also has a disease which I think prevented him from being fired.

His kid is sick, he doesn't feel good, his girlfriend is sick so he has to take care of her. He has to go to the dentist. He has to pick up his kid at school. He just had an MRI and has to go because he feels bad...

I've had 6 MRIs during my 2018 cancer thing and it does NOTHING to you.

I've expressed my opinion to a couple of my bosses but the answer I got was "Well we need to accumulate proof and bla bla bla".

They're just scared of being sued and this idiot takes the place of someone who would kill to be in his place.

It was $3. Visually, it is a $3-5 game. Mechanics-wise it is much more. It's like crack to my brain. I love that games never really go beyond 20-30mins. That's one of my biggest complaints with games like Dead Cells.
