Is that Lincoln from Mafia 3? fucking love him.
Finally! A new 3rd person action game set in (close to) the real world. We used to get so many games like this back in the PS4 era.
I think I'm in!
I think you mean GTA meets ConcordSci-Fi GTA meets Control lol
Gameplay looks rough tbh, summer seems too soon but def potential here
Well it should be out this summerThis looking good for the PS6 in 2027
It's mostly the shadows failing to root the car in the scenery here so they should probably work on improving the casting accuracy to avoid this. Then there's the complete lack of tyre marks that adds to the floatyness of it and finally the actual car physics looked off to begin with. The thing slides around that corner like it's on grease and then just randomly goes to 100% grip and goes forward.another game with flying cars! Why is it so hard to do this right!!??![]()
I'm quite surprised at the positive reception in this thread. Looks very janky.
Will see how the final product fares but looks like it needs a lot of polish.
Glad someone still remember 8 days.8 days died so this could live.
I wish this had the cover and movement system they developed for that game, looked ahead of its time:Glad someone still remember 8 days.
This is happened in so many games. Forza Motorsport for example. It's something that most games can't do right. It's mostly the shadows failing to root the car in the scenery here so they should probably work on improving the casting accuracy to avoid this. I'm cautiously optimistic about this game but when I saw that they're aiming for a summer release I got a bit worried as it clearly needs more time in the oven.
I mean thats how mafia is tooWish they would have better shown off how the open world ties into the gameplay. Trailer felt like a mish-mash of setpiece shootouts and car chase segments.
You're right, a lot of games do because you need high fidelity shadows to get the car to "sit" correctly in the environment and those are expensive to render so devs may cut corners on them to get performance back. You mention GTA 4 and I went to have a look. You know why they work in that game cause the devs are "cheating" by having the car have 2 shadows. One that is perfectly underneath it no matter where the light is coming from and then the dynamic real time shadow that moves with the sun, etc but it can be lower quality cause you have that dark blob under the car at all times. They basically hacked in an old-school PS2 era technique to compensate for the shadow precision issue. You can see it in this quick screenshot I took:This is happened in so many games. Forza Motorsport for example. It's something that most games can't do right.
Gta 4 for example hasn't this problem.
I noticed that immediately and then the rest of the jank.another game with flying cars! Why is it so hard to do this right!!??![]()
If that's how the game is structured, cool, but at least communicate that to us instead of having us wonder if this is a GTA-type game or what.I mean thats how mafia is too
The city is just the backdrop for the missions
