Monster Hunter Wilds user score discrepancy between PC and consoles

Up to date scores:

Steam - 57% (53k reviews)
PSN - 4.60 out of 5 (31.6k reviews)
Xbox - 4.4 out of 5 (624 reviews) (US)

PC port performance has led to scathing reception vs consoles.
I played roughly two hours on PS5 Pro, the performance mode actually looks better than what I perceived from those analytic videos.

Vast majority of console owners have shit looking version and they still love it (apparently). Same as with FS games, console players don't give a shit.

Yeah how dare console players have FUN and not care about graphics and go out and buy a $3000 PC. :messenger_smirking:

Also those Xbox numbers.:messenger_grinning_sweat:

Holy damn shit, and someone in that other thread suggested that it probably sold 1M on Xbox alone (US only I know, but come on... it's Xbox).
Are there even 1M Xbox consoles sold?

Lmao Lol GIF

and PC people can't eat cuz they are still paying for Nvidia GPUs

Console players will eat a shit sandwich and smile.
The hell are you guys doing? Laugh at Xbox. Come on, laugh at it!

Please don't ban me

reviews on Xbox are extremely spotty and most games have very few reviews.
even absolute top million sellers have only a few hundred or at most a couple of thousand reviews.

Halo 5 sold an estimated 9.5 million copies and is in gamepass.
but it only has aggregated 2.9k reviews over the span of almost a decade of being on the market.

meanwhile Sea of Thieves sold like 6 million and came out after, but has 3x as many reviews.

Forza Horizon 4 sold an estimated 3-4 million, yet has 97k reviews... and is even newer than Sea of Thieves...

so, there's basically neither a correlation between sales and reviews numbers, or time on the market and review numbers

And I thought GHG GHG was taking the piss when he said Xbox players don't buy gamers, good lord. If Concord was released on Xbox it would have been like trying to divide by Zero.

Xbox players waiting for it to come to Gamepass.

What can I say I'm loving the crap of the game, people can whine about graphics all day but it doesn't really affect my enjoyment.

Not many people are complaining about the image quality of Switch games, so they (200 million console gamers) probably won't care.
I played Granblue Fantasy (PS5) at 1080p/60fps and was pleased with the image quality. *4K TV
Even so, I hope Capcom will improve the texture bugs in Monster Hunter Wilds. (The game looks broken on all platforms)

isn't the ps5 pro the best performing platform? (for now)
What? 1080p and can't hold 60FPS? If the PC version is so shit that a 5090 is struggling to hit 60FPS at 1080p then I'm surprised there are any positive PC reviews.

more like $1200, and that gets you better performance in basically any game.

Which is why that DF vid didn't cover any high end GPUs. Because they're strong enough to brute force through his performance complaints. We shouldn't have to though on a game that performs worse than Dragons Dogma 2 while being inferior from a technical standpoint.

Even though this game is a pathetically optimised from capcom. I wonder how many of those of players are running hardware weaker than consoles?

So $2000 vs $700? What a deal. I have both a PS5 Pro and a gaming PC but you cannot say that the PS5 Pro isn't the best version of this game with a straight face.
Doesn't the Pro version run at 1080p? Pretty sure my PC could also run it at 1080p, not sure how that would be the best version.

Telling how they should stop trying chase life like graphics and make a game run performance wise and fun. Biggest reason why console people aren't going anywhere and probably don't care about the PC family.

They are just inept. This game looks worse than Dragons Dogma 2 while running worse than Dragons Dogma 2 and they use the same fucking in house Capcom game engine.

PC players crying like entitled little cuntwaffles?

Have you seen the terrible state of the game on pc though?
Looking at people screenshots in the steam community page is quite weird / funny, every screenshot looks so bad because of the upscaling and frame generation, it looks like pictures of compressed videos with a sharpening filter on top. Abysmal image quality.
Complaining about the state of this game is really not acting "entitled", if anything there should be more complaints. I find it surprising / sad that it has so many players actually not caring about how broken it is, it's scary for future games.

You talk like most pc gamers have amazing graphic cards and the latest tech lmao.

~95% of console players will have to look at soup (60fps mode) or slide show (30fps mode) and you are right, majority of PC players have weak components.

With this game, only few % percent of people will have visually decent experience with good performance.

I mean...i have a PS5 Pro, supposedly the best way to play this for now.

It's also not the consoles fault this game's performance is shit. Capcom is to blame here.

Exactly. Not sure why we have to have PC vs consoles when the game runs like diarrhea.

As for the lopsided reviews. I believe there are a few things going on here. For one, most console players just play games. They don't read every review or watch every DF video. I doubt the majority are going to be able to tell you, or care about, the resolution the game is running at as long as it plays on their TV. Another thing, console gamers know their hardware has limits and accept it. I believe they are reviewing the game from the gameplay perspective while PC gamers are more focused on technical issues.

Like I said in another thread:
This is why there will always be a market for consoles.

It doesn't matter if PC can run this game better, it's the shit you have to go through before you can that makes consoles a better experience overall.
