I think MS third party has become an expectation, so these rumors and announcements lack clout. Its when, rather than if - drip feeding doesn't build hype when we know its coming anyway.

If MS had come out about 18 months ago and just said "boom, we're going publishing and third party - here's a ton of game announcements on whatever platform you care to buy them on", it would have been a major impact in the news and probably led to big sales; especially of games that came after the announcement.

But this "just the tip" approach hasn't been satisfying for anyone. Xbox console fans sat with their asses clenched and gnawing their fingernails anytime there's an announcement because of what's going multi-plat next.

Meanwhile people on other platforms just shrug when something does come because "yeah, we know its coming, it's been coming for years... just get on with it". The MS game library isn't getting better with age and they're managing to squash what excitement they may have generated under a weight of expectation and tedium.

Flight Sim would be great, for PS but also for Flight Sim. And the rumored Hellblade 2 would kindly bring the series to the rest of platforms which also have Hellblade 1.

Halo and Gears though, I dont like it, and I'm a PS gamer. Xbox deserves its own identity.

Infinite is basically dead at this point. Takes like 2-3 minutes to find a BTB match and over a minute for quick play most of the time.

MCC will bring in more players by virtue of being much better games (outside of 4) and nostalgia.

MCC will 100% sell more than Infinite even though they stopped support.

I’ve been itching to replay the Halo games and jump online on the MCC for a long time now but I’ve been specifically holding off because I know it’s gonna come to PS5 and Switch, I’ll buy it for both because I know online progress will be interconnected, so to have Halo on the go, and to have it on PlayStation where I don’t have to buy another sub to play on Xbox. I can’t wait. I just hope it has cross play, then I know the games will be alive for a long time.

It was Halo's success and Halo 2 marketing that pushed Sony to release these games. Sony wasn't interested in inhouse FPS at lunch on the PS. It took the release PS2 for them to try which was poor at best. It's ok, not every developer is up to making FPS.

My boys grew up on Halo, I haven’t played any with them as that was a point in time with a lot of pumps overseas. Maybe they will want to go through the trilogy.

Most important of all and the best fun EVER, system link LAN play with 16 players possible. (The best gaming moments I've ever had!!!) Today's online play is a joke compared to that. Nothing and mean nothing can replace seeing your buddy's face in terror as he's shot in the head in the same room! I loved a good sticky grenade placement he never saw coming screaming "noooo"...

Didnt have the money to upgrade to gforce 3 card so left my pc in the dust ans got an xbox a few months later.

Fantastic games , great ports.

Same. I love the original Xbox. I think it's an S-Tier console for how much it revolutionized consoles in a positive way. A beast of a system, wasn't a cheaply made system either. It always had some of the best sound quality at the time.

Started keeping mine at the beginning of Saturn, PS and N64. Oh how Electrics Boutique and Software Etc. (those are names from the past) loved to trick pple into trading in their games for pennies. My Odyssey 2 and C-64 got destroyed in a garage.

Microsoft wanted Sea of Thieves on Switch 1. Sea of Thieves is their killer app and has outperformed every single Xbox game since what? Halo 3?

I have about 70% of my stuff still I think. Nothing from C64 or Amiga/ST days. But a fair bit of the Snes/ MD onwards survived my weed smoking days.

I have a white Saturn and loads of JP stuff from that era. Radiant Silver gun etc. That was a great console for me personally.

Also boxed Steel Battalion down the somewhere with that monster control set up.
