Naughty Dog's next game code name is "JORDAN", claims guy on Twitter

I asked ChatGPT about its thoughts concerning a biblical connotation:

"The Jordan River's biblical associations often center on transition, renewal, and divine intervention, making it a powerful setting for narratives involving personal or collective transformation. If a game from Naughty Dog were to draw on these stories, it might explore themes of redemption, faith, or crossing thresholds into new, uncharted territories."

Whilst there's no chance of ND doing anything bible related it could take those themes to a scifi space story with humanity entering new parts of space or discovering wormhole travel etc.

Though my guess is that it's probably just a random project name without meaning.

I think all Sony studios will release games a year or two on PS5, before the PS6 comes out, so they can charge us again for the remaster versions for PS6. So a couple more years till ND shows anything.

I just received this info from an insider:

In Project "Jordan," players dive into an enthralling underwater adventure as they guide Jordan, a majestic whale, through vibrant coral reefs and ancient shipwrecks. Accompanied by Arachnie, a bioluminescent deep-sea spider, they solve intricate puzzles and illuminate dark caverns with her glowing web. The dynamic duo faces off against high-tech laser-wielding sharks, adding a thrilling layer of danger to their journey. As players navigate these challenges, they uncover the secrets of the ocean's depths, all while experiencing a dynamic AI-driven narrative that ensures every playthrough is unique. This immersive game beautifully blends environmental themes with innovative storytelling, promising a groundbreaking experience for all who dive in.
NGL sounds like 'that game company' type game and I'm down for bioluminescent deep sea spider cave exploration tbh.

Hope they show something at TGA

The interviewer said the last time they spoke, assuming off camera, he said there might be some religious themes in the game.

This makes me think....

And Neil is the only guy in the industry brave and bold enough to center a game around here, right now in this climate.....

Neil Druckmann is from a Jewish religious background, right?

Just speculation from my side, but I clearly remember him in one of the behind the scenes videos of Last of Us 2, he said that how growing up in Israel and the war, had him succumb to the thought of revenge (I'm paraphrasing here, not exactly verbatim, so don't quote me on this nor am I trying to strawman him), and how it should not lead one on that path into adulthood, instead choose kindness, which eventually became one of the themes behind the story of Last of Us 2.

Maybe, this game takes place in Jordan and he wants to tell a tale close to home? Maybe even an Uncharted 5 set in Jordan?

The fact that he is Jewish leads me to think this is a reference to the Jordan River.

Unless Sony is insane they wouldn’t approve a game about a modern world situation around Middle East.

Now, a game set in Middle Ages or Antiquity would be kind of cool.

Druckmann won't take something like that on directly or explicitly, I don't think. My guess is that the reference is allegorical. Different time, location, etc. with themes that possibly point back to Israel and Palestine, perhaps. Doubtful Druckmann tries to ever pull a Veilguard and have characters hammer home messages like trans. It was much more subtly done in TLOU 2 and I expect more of the same in the next game with whatever theme he has in mind.

Using ASCII values for each letter:

J = 74, O = 79, R = 82, D = 68, A = 65, N = 78

Sum: 74+79+82+68+65+78=446

446 is significant because it’s divisible by 223, a prime number linked to Mersenne primes, used in cryptographic algorithms.

This implies JORDAN is a a cipher key.

Good on them, about time games touch on serious real world themes and not Micheal Bay style like Call of Duty Modern Warfare

It's not about outright direct setting which offends people on all sides, but rather subtle references fictional history that game developers often conjure upon when dealing with IRL locations.

An Uncharted 5, where the treasure or an ancient artifact mentioned in the Jewish Bible (I forgot it's name) is referenced and it's leading to Jordan, villain is on your tail, chaos ensues, and Drake saves the day by getting the treasure or let it sink in the Jordan river. It's like the stereotypical Uncharted trope that all of us love.

The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2 are still some of the best, most technically insane games ever made.

Really, really excited to see what they come up with next. Hopefully we get a reveal soon!

Whatever it is, please just show us something. These guys have been pumping out remakes and remasters this gen and nothing new.

I just want new IP that's making these consoles sweat.
