New GPT4o Image Generation -- Bring your gaming ideas to life

Same, sent into queue for 11 minutes.

Trying to do something based on this image.
So I was trying to trick GPT with prompts. I used this base image

I asked him to describe Shinkawa's artstyle to me in neutral terms. Then I fed it the image and asked it to create it in an artstyle that matched - copy-pasted its own words. It gave me this

Which ngl it's actually pretty cool. But I asked it to make it "more grizzled and old-looking, like art for a 90s japanese stealth game. And put in some ink splotches, but in a way that looks deliberate". And it produced this gem:

So even if it's not exactly what I wanted I'm counting that as a win

5 years time we will be prompting entire episodes and movies generated in a few hours. People keep saying it’s never going to happen but it is, there will be a lot of shit but there will be a lot of gold when it’s generated at a movie an hour.
I'd prefer it if I could name a movie and have AI spit out a copy with my "corrections" included.
Like completely and seemlessly removing the APP music from Ladyhawke and replacing it with a soundalike-John Williams score.
Et cetera.

Looking through he's artwork, I actually don't think it can be achieved without it breaking its content policies. I've given up now, I've been trying for like 2 hours straight. The closest I've got is this, and while it looks nice, it's nothing like Shinkawa's work.

I subscribed to "plus" a few hours ago and I have to be careful to not ask for new ones too fast because it tells me to wait a little.

First, this looks really cool.

I wonder why one is allowed (Ghibli stuff) and the other isn't. Is it because Shinkawa is a person so it won't copy a person's style, whereas the other is the style of a movie studio?

Tried uploading images. Tried just using people's names. All sorts. It just won't work. I'm only on the free account version so not sure if that's why.
That's strange. Even when I was on the free version I could upload random pics and ask to alter them.

Some of those AI generation apps on smart phones have a plan where you can pay to have credits to be used for AI tasks. If you run out of points, you simply purchase more. I wouldn't even mind if they did this. lol

Had it generate an illustration (just the artwork), I put the FF logotype over it, and then re-uploaded to test how good it is at recognizing the elements:
The Final Fantasy XVII logo you uploaded follows the traditional Final Fantasy aesthetic with a mix of elegance and fantasy-driven artistic elements. Here’s a breakdown of its key components:

Typography & Font Style

  • The title is written in a bold, serif font with an elongated and slightly condensed structure, a signature style of Final Fantasy logos.
  • The Roman numeral XVII is prominently displayed, maintaining the classic numbering system of the series.
  • There’s a white outline around the black text, giving it a clean, embossed effect for visibility against detailed backgrounds.
  • The underline beneath the title is a long, horizontal line—a staple in Final Fantasy logos—adding a sense of stability and grandeur.

Illustration & Background

  • The artwork behind the text is a classic Yoshitaka Amano-style painting, blending fantasy and surrealism.
  • It depicts a mythological struggle between a red dragon-like entity and a blue-winged angelic figure, symbolizing duality, conflict, and balance—a recurring theme in the Final Fantasy series.
  • The moon in the background reinforces celestial or cosmic themes, tying into the grandeur and mysticism the series is known for.
  • The soft, painterly strokes with a dreamlike color palette (pastel blues, reds, and golds) contrast with the stark black-and-white text.

Design Themes

  • Balance of light and dark – The blue angelic figure contrasts against the red dragon, a classic representation of opposing forces.
  • Celestial & mythological motifs – The moon and ethereal figures imply a story of gods, fate, and epic struggles.
  • Traditional vs. modern aesthetic – The old-school Amano artwork blends with the modern, minimalist text design.

it's so woke 😣 it's annoying
I think it's less about being 'woke' and more that they're terrified of being sued.

I can imagine Nintendo for example assembling the avengers legal team right now for anyone putting out anything of theirs in this way.

a lot of the prompt workarounds I was using just days ago no longer work. It's becoming really restrictive now..
