It sure looks like a Warcraft 2 remaster just leaked ahead of next week's anniversary event

Blizzard is planning a "Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct" for November 13.

It's Blizzard, Reforged was one of the worst launches in the entire industry and Warcraft 2 gameplay is archaic by today standards...
I really don't know what to expect.

As someone that absolutely loved Warcraft 3 and it's expansion but never played Warcraft 2. I'll curious to see how it is cause depending on how much they improve it, I might get it. Hope they learned their lesson with Reforged. I do plan to get Reforged eventually just to experience all the custom games again assuming most of them are still alive and active these days.

This is so good.

When you think of the freedom of tone at that time and the creation of a lore without obligatory guidelines. It was the kind of RTS that doesn't exist anymore, in short, the good old days.

I mean, it will probably be like Starcraft remastered so basically the ideal version of a still retro game? I doubt they can (or will) try the changes of 3 (which would have also been ideal with just engine/texture improvements, everything else intact as it was, Idk why they wanted to mess with it more).

I'll be surprised if it's a full 3D remake like Diablo II but that'd be welcome too, if they don't mess with what matters again.

Although I'm never playing any of these games again, probably, so a nearly 1:1 faithful rendition will just be something to see once and forget, it's probably the best possible scenario for those who still may or who haven't yet and couldn't deal with the old look for whatever reason, fine as it still is.

I spent many hours playing this via local null-modem cable and online via KALI. The mechanics are absolutely archaic. I don't see how Blizzard can win here. Either they fix up the game to the point it isn't recognizable to those who loved it, or they leave it alone and no one actually plays it.

Vicarious Visions getting swallowed by the CoD machine is a fucking travesty. Diablo 2 Remake and THPS 1+2 are some of the best remakes we’ve gotten.

There was a leaked Warcraft 3 2.0 patch that was quickly pulled from the update servers a week or two ago. So, despite the community surviving on deep huffs of copium for so long - it does look as though we are indeed also getting a rebooted Warcraft 3 Reforged.

Warcraft II's from at time where Blizzard was so different compared to today's Blizzard that honestly, I don't trust them doing a good job with this, much less after the disaster that's Reforged.
