The best news of the offseason I could get is confirmation that the Provessor is gonna be playing with the Fly Guys this season and what would make it even better if they bring up Konecny with him.
Provy is ready for sure and Konecny is damn close, if not already there. I hope Hexy isn't a little to patient with them since they both seem like they can play at this level, and could use them both quite badly

Cautiously optimistic about the Canes moves. I mean, Stempniak put up 51 points last season between two teams. What's the deal with him, anyway? This is his 10th team. He seems to consistently score mid-teens in goals, hasn't been negative in +/- for a couple years.
Teravainen is a great young pickup. Bickell and Stahlberg provide some size.
Given the outs are Gerbe, Terry, E. Staal and Malone, I think this is a step up productivity-wise.
I'm a little concerned about Wisniewski being bought out. The strength on the blue line last year was highly dependent on three rookies (Hanifin, Pesce & Slayven).

We need wingers. His AAV is only 4.5$ and he could easily be on our first line which would be sexy as fuck.
Now if we never get him, which is much more likely than us actually trading for him, bringing up Konecny and him hopefully getting to the 2nd line quickly would be ideal.

He will be on the 3rd or 4th line most likely depending on how Weal performs and if we do indeed have Konecny up. I think he will most likely be on our 3rd line to start but will be bumped to the 4th if Konecny comes up and plays well.
This is if Konecny is even up to start the season. He may not start the season with the Flyers but I think he will be up for sure at some point during it. If Provy doesn't start the season with the Flyers then idk... since he should.
You can't just have 6 D for an entire season. Having Polak around is insurance in case some of the young guys go through tough spells you can mix guys in and out. Never hurts to have some vets back there.

I'm not too worried about losing Wiz since he only played one shift last season (wish him the absolute best in Toronto tho). Think theyll have Carrick in the lineup next year and give Ryan Murphy a one-year deal to try and stay healthy and prove himself. Figured that of trading him was the plan theyd have done it by now.

Lots of quotes from Staal since he signed up here about how his lack of production was basically because he was extremely unmotivated in Carolina because of the low budget of the team and the repeated losing seasons. Lots of assurances that he is going to play better in Minnesota.

it isn't really accurate anyway since he played pretty well in Carolina, even last year when the offence dried up he still drove play effectively. the bigger question is why he flopped so badly in New York. That was ugly.

Kinda how I saw it from the game and a half I saw. He just looked like he wasn't the right fit and wasn't given the right opportunity. Started off on the wrong fit and it spiraled from there.
That said, I saw very little and Meta would be able to give a better answer than me.
Staal didn't really address his time in New York in any interviews aside from little mentions that it wasn't the right fit and he wants to show he's still got it.
Yeah I don't personally buy it all that much, but he's relatively cheap for us and I have confidence he will get 35-40 points with Bruce at the helm. Decent middle-six center until either Kunin or Eriksson-Ek are ready to rumble in the big league.
He didn't fit in the lineup and never had a role to settle into. AV had him playing as a third line winger, a third line center, a second line winger, and whatever the hell else, with zero consistency. And when he did have two or three games in a row where it looked like he was gelling with his linemates finally, the lineup changed again.
One thing that I think hasn't gotten much attention nationally is how bad AV was at managing talent this season. He had a really bad year, pretty much from start to finish. I hope he's learned from it because he had been much better in the previous years, aside from a few Tanner Glassian quirks here and there.

Why are all the rumors that you want to get rid of Barrie? Did he do something or what is the benefit for you guys?
He looked like shit last year but he's definitely talented and not that old where if he wants to start giving a shit again he can definitely be a contributor. Plus his contract is pretty decent so I don't think there's much downside to it. Even if he continues to suck, you will have overpaid but not by much.

I've always wanted to try them, but wasn't sure....good to know! Once these blades are done, I may pull the trigger.
I bought 52 beers in 4 and 6 packs in PA, 11 different. Driving back tomorrow. Allowed 24 per person but I'm cheating! God there are so many I wanted. Got some gose and Berliner weisse for my gf (I like them as well usually) and a couple of IPAs I really wanted. The Ballast Point watermelon IPA (Dorado?) that's at like 10.5% and you can't tell. Shit was delicious today at dinner on a deck overlooking the Delaware. Had to pick it up. Can't remember them all. Bear Republic Racer. Some recommended local stuff.
So many ppl with Flyers decals/signs on their cars. More than usual. Why y'all so excited?!
Also, pretty thrilling Rangers off-season thus far. All needs taken care of. So psyched. /s
