Nintendo: 'Make New Memories'

This is getting ridiculous. It's already late November and Nintendo still hasn't given any hints about the reveal of the Switch's successor.
I mean there were the rumblings that it was delayed. The more time goes on and the more we get stuff like Nintendo Music and the Xenoblade Chronicals X announcement the more that seems feasible to me.

If I had to guess they are probably testing the crap out of it for vulnerabilities, because the early hacking of the original switch is what led to yuzu and the ability to easily dump games.

It's going to get hacked within a week no matter what they do.

I think they either wanted one more holiday with the Switch or the launch games just aren't there yet. Nintendo is known to delay games that they feel aren't ready, and launch games are significantly more important for their success than they are for Sony or Microsoft.

Maybe they do an Apple, announce the product a week or two in advance. I don't think you need a long cycle these days from announcement to launch. They had to do it with Switch as investors were getting antsy and WiiU was a dud.

They do a reveal, features, launch games, first year games, etc. Then release it the week after.

Ah, I see what you mean.

Perhaps it's more "can't" than "won't" and plans changed.

Switch sales might have dropped, but I'm sure they're still selling enough of this near end of life product to not be too worried. Especially knowing what's coming. Besides, Nintendo must make decent profit margins with low cost hardware and software that never goes on sale. As far as I'm aware they never lost money on hardware to begin with so that can only have gotten better. Between their 3 models I'm sure they'll do fine at Christmas.
Nintendo has best profit margins in the industry exactly because of thing a like that. Which is really funny because I lately looked into “family” entertainment and I’m sure I can find at least 15-20 PS5 games that fit the bill.

What I find funny and sad at the same time is that both Sony and Microsoft gave up on retail space, come Switch 2 Walmarts and other retailers will be plastered only with Switch 2 ads. They will make a killing.

Why would they ruin the Christmas sales? If they announce Switch 2 before Christmas chances are 100% some people will just wait. If i was Nintendo i would announce it in February.
There is another angle though. If you announce, you might convince some people to wait for Switch 2 instead of grabbing a PS5. They could be trolls and announce on Xmas day via a popup on the system.

I really like to think that the longer the wait, the more powerful it ends up being. The current Switch is so weak, even 10% faster would be huge.

This and the stick drift are hidden features. Well, that benefit Nintendo, not you eheh.
I haven't have my Switch that long, just since November last year, and the first thing I did was putting a tempered glass on top of the screen because I just knew it would scratch it eventually. I don't really use the dock mode at all but so far the screen is perfect.

I guess the best way to dock it is the way Sakurai does, right?

If they're already in their holiday marketing season then I doubt Switch 2 is getting announced this year. Plus they still have games slated for 2025 announced for Switch 1 until March. We might not see this thing until after that.
Yeah, unless some of these games are also launch titles for the Switch 2 maybe?

Ah yes, tempered glass are a must for sure!

Not a bad idea at all to dock it that way!

Nintendo only announces new hardware during the xmas period in order to prevent people from buying other hardware that's getting released in time for xmas, but as nobody else is even making handhelds anymore, they have no competition to worry about so they'll chill until next year.

It's November now, if they had these things manufactured and ready to hit the shelves for xmas, something would have leaked by now, and they wouldn't be funding adverts for the existing hardware for xmas as It would cause confusion, folks thought the Wii U was an accessory because they made that mistake before.

TLDR; you get nothing, set your Alarmo to 2025
I remember their TV commercials literally said “upgrade to a Wii U”. I had multiple Wii-owning friends ask me “what’s is it?” when I told them I got one. The normie audience has no idea whether it was an add-on, a mid gen upgrade, or a totally new system.

I hope their marketing team really learned their lesson.

I’ve moved to the fall 2025 release window. It sucks was hoping for a march release but doesn’t look like it’s happening. Nintendo feels zero pressure to move…

Yeah, and have the system completely leaked before that.
Seriously, what's up with Nintendo fans and these weird takes as of late? It's not the end of the world if the console takes a bit more to release, I'm pretty sure that good old Ninty will have more remasters to make the wait a little easier.

Nintendo is not Apple. If there's anything Nintendo hates more than people emulating its games, it's its products (ESPECIALLY major products) getting completely leaked before announcement.

I still don't understand why people expect them to go into great detail right now. Why derail low information consumers that aren't up to date with this stuff, but may be with large press attention? I wouldn't do it, but I also don't operate billion dollar company.

I have a little voice in the back of my head that kind of wishes Nintendo fails with the Switch 2, if nothing more than to punish them for this nonsense of not releasing a successor this many years later or even announcing it for that matter. It's kind of like wanting to see the arrogant fail--this shit is nuts at this point, not even announcing it much less releasing it. I kind of feel like they deserve another WiiU at this point, enough is enough.

The madlads can't help themselves!! 🤣

Three ads in two hours for an eight year old console :messenger_clapping:

If you can't understand why this is happening, look into yourself and ask why.

(I don't understand either. Wtf, Nintendo :messenger_grinning_sweat:)
(Also, how in the world did that second commercial get over 400k views in 1 hour??)

The group thumbnails look staged and fake with the gaping mouths and wide eyed looks, whereas the black girl looks more relatable with the average gamer as she's more relaxed and is playing it like how its meant to be played....like a handheld.
