That being said, I'm actually extremely excited for the new console and I don't know why. I have maybe 300 hours total in the Switch and that's mainly in BOTW/TOTK and visual novels but I've bought so many goddamn games on that thing that I've never touched just because I love the idea of it.

I'm a primarily PC/PS guy, but there is something "magical" for lake of better words about Nintendo. People may not like them and thing their stuff is shit, but they are literally the face of video games and the greatest game company to ever exist and I highly doubt that will ever change.

There is absolutely magic in it, coming from someone who owns a $3000 pc. They make great experiences based on the hardware available. I'm really hoping that Switch 1 games run uncapped though.

Hell, I've got Tears of the Kingdom, Skyward Sword, Links Awakening, Luigis Mansion 3, Odyssey, Bayo 2 unplayed and BOTW, Ultimate Alliance 3 and Prime remaster to finish. I was playing the shit out of Switch till around 2019/2020 but kind of dropped it for my Steam backlog ( and sold my Switch OLED last summer after I got the Steam Deck).

I think the best thing about Nintendo is just that they just make games. They aren't out to make some epic cinematic story (don't get me wrong I do love a lot of those types of games as well) they just make fun games. I'm not even a fan of most of their games (Zelda, and Pikmin are really the only ones I really care about though I did enjoy all of the Platoon games) but the fact that Nintendo still has me excited and have an almost guaranteed purchase out of me is impressive.

That being said I didn't grow up on Nintendo. My first console was a PlayStation and we never really had the money for me to really own more then 1 console up until late PS3 generation. Most of my early years on games were done on PC. I'm sure if I grew up on them I would be an even bigger fan.

Somehow two of my favorite YouTubers (saying favorite YouTubers out loud is cringe but I watch a lot of Youtube) are pretty Nintendo centric as well.
