Is it just me or have we not gotten a PS4 sales update in a while? The most current official number is still 35.9 million. I have to imagine it's at 37-39 (maybe 40) at this point.
They might of been waiting for 40 mil, maybe E3 talking point on stage, people like to hear the numbers sold as long as it's just a sentence and you don't bring graphs.

Cumulative shipped numbers will be updated this Thursday when Sony reports their fiscal results.

Oh, I assumed they had already done that. Cool. Off-topic, I wonder if they will consider PS4 Neo its own thing or if they will combine both PS4 and PS4 Neo as one device in terms of sales, a la Nintendo's DS family/3DS family.
Hyrule Warriors on Wii U sold 170,000 First month at retail (190,000 including digital ) .

Npd will merge. Maybe referencing neo on first few months.
Sony will give numbers for neo if they are great, otherwise PS4family.
Probably waiting for that 40 million milestone. 35.9 million was as of the end of 2015 and since the PS4's launch, Sony has always updated the official sales figures at the start of a new year. If my predictions are even remotely close, the PS4 should hit 40 million around now or in early May.
But how do we know if Sony doesn't give the numbers?Well, PS4 has 4 days for sell 40 million, if not, my hearly May prediction will become true.

3DS - 1.10 million
Wii U - 0.28 million
Fire Emblem Fates (3DS) - 1.40 million
Pokkén Tournament (WIU) - 1.25 million
Zelda: Twilight Princess HD (WIU) - 1.25 million
Pokémon XY (3DS) - 14.54 million
Mario Kart 7 (3DS) - 13.24 million
Super Smash Bros 4 ( 3DS; WIU ) - 12.95 million
Pokémon ORAS (3DS) - 11.75 million
Mario Kart 8 (WIU) - 7.54 million
Splatoon (WIU) - 4.51 million
Super Mario Maker (WIU) - 3.74 million
Fell pretty confident about old software, while we will see on new software, aka Fates, Pokkén, and Zelda.
About hardware, i honestly have LOT of doubt, Wii U because had huge shipments problem in Japan, and for 3DS i said why here.

But May is more way more probable due PS4 selling avg. 900k per month in current year first quarters.
Ratchet and Clank will outsell Quantum Break in April NPD. I'm gonna bet on that! Who's with me and who's against me?

People think R&C will outsell a well advertised TPS (which also has bundles) in America.

Bundles aren't counted in NPD as software sales. And retailer insiders haven't indicated Quantum Break sales are on fire. Have we seen any insiders comment on Ratchet sales?

Well, let's be honest. QB hasn't set the world on fire. It's been very divisive critically. And Microsoft has seemingly forgotten how to successfully market a new IP, or any game for that matter (Read: E3 demos for Halo 5 and Gears 4). I wouldn't be surprised.

R&C is not the exclusive that poster was looking for though.
We get it. You think Quantum Break will do big in the US because Americans love shooters. Now while you stay in your hopes and dreams, the rest of us are allowed to believe in a possible scenario. I already pointed out comments from fellow retailers last week, but if you can't accept that, have it your way.

I'm assuming that NPD mainly gets its tracking numbers from big retailers (who haven't broken the street date) so it wouldn't, but I really don't know the details on how NPD tracks sales.

Doubt it will have much impact.
We are talking like what 10k or 20k copies at the max which ain't much unless it is worse than I thought so it shouldn't affect too much.

The rest of 2016 is going to be a nice, relaxing year for Nintendo's PR department. They won't even need to create any NPD press releases.
They expect to ship 800K for the FY, and they sold 700K last Nov+Dec in the U.S. Yeah, they're done trying to sell Wii Us. :lol 3DS still has the rumored price drop and some good games coming, though. Pokemon will garner a press release, at least.
