Nvidia RTX 30XX |OT|

I got 2nd confirmation email now on the 3080 FE that came online this morning at 6:30 - 7:00 CET on Nvidia's site. Looks like it's really happening. (shipping to Denmark)

Nice to see a few people get 3080s as they trickle in. I check multiple times a day but if you aren't there the second they have them you're shit out of luck lol

I'm legitimately caught...I don't know whether to commit to getting a 3080, or hold out for the inevitable 3070Ti down the road which would probably suit my needs better. My main monitor is 27" but only runs 2560x1440. I'd like 4K, but the problem is as I use it for my work (Graphics) I need a Colour accurate one and 4K Dell Ultrasharp aren't on the cheap side (£900 - 11100)

1080TI

Memory Clock 19 Gbps effective
Bandwidth 760.3 GB/s

Theres no downgrade here. 3080 shits on the 1080 from the highest peaks. Those 10 gigs on the 3080 are gonna perform much better than what you have on the 1080
VRAM amount and bandwidth are different things. 10GB is not more than 11GB no matter what.

There's also obviously plenty of people who don't understand the difference between allocated and actually needed VRAM, and doubly so contextually.
This is true as well

edit: Evga's website is already running slow this morning....

Yeah I also just got the confirmation mail! Seems that the bots are gone! :O

I have a 3090 (MSI Gaming X) in my cart right now! ..But I'm not gonna, I don't need it, just wanted to try how it feels, LOL

= 2000USD..............

My 3080 TUF order actually got pushed forward (against my usual bad luck), so I'm just gonna use common sense (which is a rare occasion) and take that instead.

No 3090 for me. Couldn't even get one in my cart. This was well harder then PS5 and Series X. Oh well, I guess Ill keep my Xbox SX and PS5 preorders and be happy.

Yesterday evening I was jokingly telling friends I'm so pissed about this new GPU launch I was gonna go back to console gaming. Later that night I snagged a 3080 fe and as of 5 minutes ago snagged a 3090 fe. 3080 to my wife (she said it's cute) and 3090 to me so I can keep adding grass textures to Witcher 3 without falling below 30fps.

I got as far as having a pny 3090 in cart for a while, I just couldnt get past the pick up/ship part... Oh well, guess ill just wait a bit maybe by the time I get a card the EK waterblocks will be out for it.

Where did you get the 3090?

Going by the numbers, and not by the price, if you own an RTX 2080 TI then you're going to have to think long and hard before ordering a 3080.

A 3090, at 4K, looks like it'll get you an extra 20 frames in those games your 2080 is struggling with, which is great (the Horizon Zero Dawn 4K benchmark really highlights this). The 3080, on the other hand, just barely gets you over that hump.

I ordered the Asus Strix 3090 just in case but after watching Tech Jesus trash the 3090 my now on hold on the phone to cancel my order :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Other reviewers showed it only getting 6% faster then the 3080

At this point it seems criminally irrational not to wait until all reviews / GPU models are out and priced correctly. So much stuff going on since last thursday. 3080s having problems, LG OLEDs not working as advertised, 3090 perf increase disappointing, Big Navi probably quite competitive given AMDs recent history and so on.

No offence whatsoever, but the "narrative" in your post is a little bit weird considering that 3090 is on average (even according to Nvidia themselves) about 10% faster than a 3080.. But yes in some cases of course the difference will vary and perhaps HZD is one of them.

A small heads up on the LG issue in case you're not aware; It's a compatibility issue at LG's end and they are working on a firmware update to fix it.

Steve got blacklisted by A LOT for his honesty and he still doesn't give a single shit

Those moments where he grabs money and changes his words are LEGENDARY!

Yeah, I felt the nausea growing watching Linus' video.. So embarrassing..
