As I mentioned this morning I am looking to spend about $1500-$1700 on a PC. As I was browsing Borders I ran across MaximumPC which happened to be doing a feature on a $1500 "No-Compromises" PC. I picked it up and it does a nice run down of what you need and how to do it. Here is what they picked, what do you guys think?
Videocard: XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 512
Motherboard: MSI p35 neo2-fr
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad q6600
Memory: 4GB DDR2/800
Case: Cooler Master CM Stacker
Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (should I go with Vista instead?)
Hard Drive: Seagate 750GB BArracuda AS 7200.10
Optical Drive: Optiarc AD-7190A
Soundcard: Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
What do you guys think? Keep in mind I'm not trying to build the ultimate gaming rig, just something that will play the latest and greatest right now, and be scalable for the future.
