Sounds like a cool feature idea. I could output the worst one or two predictions for each participant alongside the rankings.

Something went wrong. The parser has me predicting 240K for the PS2 and 400K for the 360. From page 4,



I'm 291.5K off by the parser but only 169.5K off in my prediction. Maybe it picked up posts by me where I mentioned PS2 or 360 but wasn't using the parser formatting?

P.S. I was dead wrong on PS2 outselling 360 Madden in August. I have a few feathers in my mouth, now.

I'll try to have them by late tonight or tomorrow. I was trying to get them ready last night, as I knew I wouldn't have much time today to do them. Since it looks like the problem I was seeing last night is fixed, it shouldn't be long once I have time at the computer again.

The individual monthly stuff donny could probably expound on, or you could search for it in his post history. It looks like a mess, but it's an attempt to somewhat standardize how much each month is worth, so if you're the best predictor of the month it doesn't make such a difference whether you were off by 50K or 500K. From there the "Last 3 months" and "2007 Overall" just sum it up, so we can see who's done better recently or for the whole year.

It's a combination of a system sonycowboy used to use and the rankings that Cheesemeister posts. It allows us to more equally compare month-to-month how people are predicting instead of simply using total units off over the year.

Don't forget to use the proper format when posting predictions.

Post formatting guidelines for the parser...

List numeric values following system tags on their own lines in a post. All non-numeric characters following the tag will be stripped out, save for the first instance of the letter K in either upper or lower-case, which will be replaced with 3 zeroes. Make predictions by the set deadline, at which point the parser will be run. If a given poster has more than one post with predictions, guesses in subsequent posts will override previous guesses. By the same token, subsequent guesses on the same system within a given post will overwrite previous guesses.

Some examples of valid input follow, but do at least keep them readable for your fellow forum-goers.

[360] 123k - because of Halo 3 anticipation
