Path of Exile 2 on a PS5 base vs Pro is night and day. It should be a talking point for showing off how good the Pro is.

If people want screenshots, I'll take them.

I have it installed on both systems. On the base PS5, its a jaggy game. Grassy fields are blowing in the wind and you can see the edges like they're raindrops on the field. On the PS5 Pro? It's gorgeous with nothing to really complain about. Every time I go into my game room and play on the base, I'm more and more happy I bought a Pro.

edit: I'm compiling a video of the same shots I put below. That will show how much cleaner the Pro is.

YouTube compression but here:

The controller support in POE2 is really great. Such a huge improvement over POE1 and D3/D4. I started playing on PC with a controller for my Ranger and Sorc. D-stick movement and aiming is sublime.

Navigating the passive tree and skill menus isn't great, but my keyboard is nearby for that stuff. Was going to give it whirl on consoles this weekend.

How do they handle AoE skills where you click where you want to place them?

Surprisingly well! They will typically target the closest enemy in range of where you are aiming the R-Stick. Some skills (like firewall) have a cast distance limit as well which it takes into account.

All the animation cancelling works as it does on KB&M so you can cancel certain casts/actions just by pressing the button for the next action that you want to take.

For my Sorc at least I have support skills that change my AOE skills so I don't worry about placement currently.

It does a great job with Ice Bolt/Frost nova combo. Launch an Ice Bolt and then hold down the button for Frost Nova and it will cast the frost nova at the location of the moving Ice Bolt until the bolt moves out of range or expires.

Yeah, and it would be my secondary way of playing if MTX transferred from PC. I put in too much money on the OG and now this game on PC to lose access to all of it. So annoying since I own the Pro. It's ok, I have the Deck.

Please hold for a video once I get those dumped because the moving of the grass is really off on a base PS5.

I have thoroughly voiced my opinion against the Pro in most threads about it as I trully didn't find it an impressive upgrade for the price it asks but this is a great example of a worthwhile upgrade and if more games show such differences I may finally upgrade from the og PS5.

Great comparisson shots....No 300% zoomed in bullshit that all the comparisons before were made in...

D3 is still my favorite but POE2 controls really well on a controller.

I'll be honest, most games I've played have had huge upgrades even some that aren't patched like Wukong. I think honestly, people want to marginalize the console so they up-play the mostly meaningless negatives and don't give any credit for the positives. It's all performative ridicule brought on by the price and/or by those PC/Xbox gamers who are incentivized to be anti-playstation.

I swear some people on this forum think the Pro would give them a graphics downgrade on all their games and delete their save files. That's how deep the anti-pro bubble is that people have made for themselves. They can't even admit the pro gives better graphics, lol.

No amount of evidence or even games will change their mind. They have found a way to create a bubble that the pro doesn't work right and that is all they are willing to believe. I honestly believe if we studied how willfully ignorant most are of the PS5 Pro we would learn a lot about general human behavior. It is no longer about the console itself, but rather an anti-PS5 Pro political party in gaming that has a malevolent agenda.

Reminds me of this: Although the most acute judges of the witches and even the witches themselves, were convinced of the guilt of witchery, the guilt nevertheless was non-existent. It is thus with all guilt. -Friedrich Nietzsche.

Some of my pcmr friends have been quite annoying as well. Was having dinner with some of them and one asked me how was my ps5 pro. I said it's OK. He then went on and on about how a pro is so unnecessary and that his 4070 is already considered a pro plus. And this guy has been asking me on text why do I even need a pro. THREE TIMES.

Another few idiots said they'll be getting a 5090 when it's out and that's equivalent to a ps7 and no one needs to buy playstation consoles anymore.

Like we're just enjoying our food and suddenly this conversation comes up. It's annoying asf.

All I did was say "I'll be getting one" when the pro was revealed. I'm not the type to take pictures and post it on social media or talk about how good the pro is. I just buy the console, shut the fuck up and play. But these pcmr types gotta keep talking about how the pro is unnecessary and their 4070 is a pro plus and their future 5090 is a ps7.

And seriously. A group of grown men in their 30s and 40s pronouncing PISSER in public and laughing at it is just cringe.

Thank goodness I'm not very close to these bunch of people.

To those who still call PSSR as pisser, grow the fuck up. It's even worse if you mispronounce that word in public in front of people. The joke got old fast.

Might be JPEG compression but the Pro shot looks worse to me (oversharpened)
Maybe but in person, it's huge. You can check my post history. I've been pretty realistic even just the other day stating I wouldn't recommend the Pro to anyone who isn't big on tech. This and FF7 Rebirth really do look huge. POE2 is 1080 jaggies to 4k.
