PC launchers besides Steam and GOG have no right to exist.

Reverse groomer.
Therefore competing by having a better launcher wont really help much!
it still would- a launcher more feature complete and better made than steam would make people want to play games on it more. combine that with cheaper prices and people would be sure to switch.
Epic even with the free games gimmick still isn't outpacing steam, because people don't want to use the launcher. It's poorly made. now imagine if Epic had the same features as steam and even had some additions of its own that made it more competitive...

When was the last time a Valve game made a dent in the market?
When was the last time Valve´s engine or technology was used by other companies or praised for its technical prowess?
How many projects have they started now only to leave them rotting after losing interest?

But keep drinking that Cool-Aid!
Try Half Life Alyx which immediately set the bar high for what a VR game can be.

The rest of your vomit has nothing to do with them operating the best launcher in the industry. But sure, their Steam Deck is quite awesome. Their VR headset was great. Steam controller was viewed very positively.

None of those have anything to do with the topic though. And it’s Kool Aid, not Cool- Aid.

Nobody CAN compete, becasue the normal market forces do not work here! Were you asleep during economy classes?
Epic has no problem at all to have games on EGS and Steam at the same time as long as they can offer them for a lower price!
But they cant because Valve´s Most Favored Nation clause prevents anyone from selling the game for less on any other store.
This means Valve is abusing their market power to not have to ever compete on price - which is what the antitrust lawsuit is about.
Therefore the developers/publishers have no choice but to go EGS exclusive!

The fact that third party key sellers sell games cheaper than Valve, with Valve getting NO CUT of the sale says you’re full of rich creamy shit. Developers/publishers collect an Epic check because they want to have their cake and eat it too. Collect Epic’s money, get no sales, and then release on Steam.

We do have proof of Epic having to raise the price of a game because Sony forced them on price parity with PlayStation.

If best in business means getting an F in customer service for almost a decade in a row and not changing a thing then I dont know what "best" means in your case.
To me it sounds like you´re a serious case of Stockholm Syndrome, as otherwise I cannot explain how you can ignore simple economic realities.

An “F” in customer service. Right. The company that initiates refunds without me having to pick up a phone gets an F according to you. The company whose refund policy Epic and Microsoft both copied gets an F.
The company that gives free cloud service and loads of free features with no subscription bullshit gets an F.

You sound like a failed developer who released a dud on Steam and blame Valve for everything. So much bitterness and ignorance.

VR is a niche, not the main games market.

My "vomit" are facts!
Steam Deck is great!
Their VR headset was great, until they lost interest and stopped caring!
Steam controller was viewed positivley until they lost interest and stopped caring!
Source Film Maker was great, until they lost interest and stopped caring!
Source Engine was great, until they lost interest and stopped caring!
etc...
I see a pattern there...

We will see how full of shit I am when the result of that antitrust lawsuit comes in ;)

You are comparing Apples and Oranges - Playstation is a publisher, they can sell their games at whatever price they want.
Playstation the platform holder cannot demand that other publishers sell their games on competing platforms for the same price as on PSN - Valve does!

No, it isnt me who gave them an F, I never had a problem with them luckily.
But they got that F every single year from the BetterBusinessBureu & Co and already promised in 2015 they would do better.
And yet it still takes 2 weeks and public outcry for them to react to take a stolen game down - yep fantastic service right there!

Haha way to project your own insecurity on me. But no, im doing very well!
The mistake you make is, you attribute my assessment of Steam having to do with feelings.
But feelings have no place when you have to look a the economics and market realities.

You on the other hand react like someone who is emotionally invested in this Steam religion that has been attacked by an infidel like me!
So go on burn me on the stake for daring to say Jehova!

Lost interest in VR how? They’ve done more for VR than anyone. You can’t even use VR features in an Epic game! You have to go through Steam.

Steam Decks a success and they’ve already hinted at future versions.

Steam controller is a controller. Are they obligated to continue making them forever to appease you?? You act as though they’re as large as Sony or Nintendo.

Once again this is a straw man argument on your part that has zero to do with the subject.

Did you even read the article? Sony did exactly that with a THIRD PARTY GAME.

Wowed Zowie an F by the BBB in 2015! Hold the phone that means a lot! I take back everything lol.

Feelings lol. I will absolutely go to bat against bullshitters for the only company doing right by customers. You’re just part of the pro Epic/anti-Steam crowd.

I liked gog when they focused on older games. It was fun to window shop and I could easily spend over an hour and end up with $20 of stuff I didn't need and love it. They started making it hard to filter down to games from certain years tho and I found it less fun to shop on there. I'll still search for particular games I want but I don't get nearly as mmuch as I used to there. Launcher is optional for them, anyhow.

It must be nice to have a purely black or white worldview and go "bat" over a store.
Feel free to dismiss my critique as bullshit and paint me as a "pro Epic/anti-Steam" person, but that wont end the antitrust lawsuit.
Honestly the idea of being pro or contra a friggn PC store/launcher and having to defend that, sounds to me like a serious mental issue!
