Glad I waited instead of importing the LRG version, as Layers of Fear finally received a PEGI release last week. I was able to get my copy locally at a good price.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
So, how hard is it going to be to snag a copy of Lunar on PS5 next month?
Don't worry, there will be enough to go around for everyone that wants one*

With the way reprints are happening these days, I'm not too worried about it. Funnily enough, I can now regret the scalped ebay price I paid for Shiren.

Just a heads up, LRG has begun shipping copies of Castlevania: Dominus Collection. Shipments should arrive the week of March 17th.

Awesome pair of metroidvanias - Dominus next to Advance (which I already owned). Before anyone asks, while I am not as much a fan of the Classicvanias, I have a SNES Classic for Super Castlevania IV, and I "own" Requiem digitally on PS4. It would be here if there was a Switch version.

Bonus: Retrofighters VHS case is very cool. Surprisingly sturdy and hefty.

My three copies of the Dominus collection from LRG came today as well. Just need my Konami version to ship to complete the collection.

Did I miss the advance and dominus collections if I am just now checking in? Any folks besides LRG? Not for or against them; just know I missed it.

Yeah, LRG's are out of print. I remember Konami mentioning something of making a physical print of Legacy Collection in Japan, but I'm not sure of that.

Lots of news to unpack today from that Switch 2 Direct.

First off, looks like Nintendo is going full Disney Vault on NSO (now Nintendo Classics) and avoiding ways for people to own copies of back catalogue. WW original version is coming, which means WWHD from the Wii-U is still the best version of that game. Interesting to see Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance on that list - it's going for like $300 on Pricecharting.

It will be interesting to see how the Switch 2 upgrades will be priced, and if that will impact the physical market at all. I would probably bite on the upgrades if they are reasonable ($10 or less), but I have a feeling Nintendo is going to price them at $19.99 each.

There's also the price difference between digital and physical. Instead of "digital cheaper", it's "physical more expensive". We knew this was coming, but it really hurts to see the platform owners tightening the screws.

We also need to be concerned about region locked consoles again, unless the Japanese system is an outlier. What does that mean for physical and digital games from other regions? I have FF 1 to 12 on Switch, Asia versions (except FF7/8 EU). Will I be able to play these on NS2 or will I need to keep my original?

Botw switch 2 edition doesn’t look to be the dlc edition that Japan got a couple years ago either. I was really hoping that we’d see some Switch first party get a nice GOTY treatment for Switch 2 physicals.

That said, hoping the physical release boutiques will comment on their ability to serve the switch 2. Hoping a few things I missed previously like shredders revenge ultimate edition get a rerelease. No framerate drops and 6-player mode FTW.

I would be extremely surprised if the NS2 edition included the expansion pass. It's $20 on its own, so Nintendo would be packing in $30 of value and need to print a new, more expensive cart. It would also be in direct competition with existing Switch copies of the game. Maybe one day they will do this (probably again for Japan only) but they seem to also want to enforce Nintendo Accounts - and making sure people are visiting the proper region's eShop is the way they have been doing this.

There are so many assumptions/questions about these physical releases related to what content is on the cart (expansions pack, Switch 2 upgrade enhancements). I wish someone would press Nintendo on this so we can stop guessing.
