Well deserved I think. Probably the most fun I've had with an AC game since Black Flag.

Been playing it everyday since I started it, and I was a staunch naysayer pre-release.

Its only competition was split fiction and mlb. Its fine if you like AC but winning a players choice poll for the month of march is a big nothing lol. It was never going to lose that poll.

This isn't a big achievement. Now if it had launched in the same month as games like KCD2 and Monster Hunter and still won that'd be different.

Valhalla was a steaming pile of shit. Hands down the worst in the series. Shadows is huge improvement in every way. I'd say it's the best of the RPGs, although Odyssey is still the best setting ever for an AC game imo.

I had my pitchfork out along with everyone else pre release. Then I bought it on a whim (just wanted to play a game in that time period in Japan) and figured I could sell the game ASAP if it was truly awful.

Turns out, it's actually a great game. I have it set up with a minimalist HUD, no waypoint marker and languages set to Portuguese/Japanese, so I'm just taking my time and savoring the environments, which are beautiful.

Even Yasuke isn't as bad as everyone said. In the game he's recruited just because Nobunaga's is fascinated with the oddity of his skin color, which is very Japanese thing to do and probably what really happened.

Newest entry in super popular franchise gets more votes than.... some new Soulslike from an unknown Korean studio, some new AA Ip by the Sniper Elite people, an anime arena fighter and a Co-Op only game (that 2 people can play with 1 copy).

I also have PS5 but XCXDE coming out exactly same day as ACshdows so the choice was obvious.

We were told it was going to bomb in reviews and when that didn't happen suddenly the reviews were paid for

We were told it was going to flop in terms of fan reviews and when those reviews turned out mostly or very positive on steam and playstation network where you actually must purchase the game to vote suddenly that doesn't matter

When there was a question of sales the Steam CCU seems to be the only thing people cared about, Now this game has been At the top of the charts for several weeks around the world

But Japan was definitely offended, Now suddenly when the game is released it's literally the number 3 most downloaded game on playstation network in Japan

GAF has become like YouTubers, they need have this over the top reaction over any news.

I still have zero interest in AC or any Ubisoft games but GAF's reaction over "black samurai" was god damn stupid….devs should always be free to make whatever the fuck they want.

The energy around this game trying to say it's garbage, or actually really good...when it's just a mid a fuck experience like all of the AC games since Origins.

Some improvements like stealth, more bugs than other releases, same general slop.

Watched my brother play it on PC last night.. It's really good looking and the Naoe gameplay is pretty good too.
