Will check out RoboCop.

Kinda iffy on the game, seems quite mediocre from a gameplay perspective, but going by some things I've read on here, visuals/tech should be worth checking.

On a positive note I won't have to buy another copy of Robocop: Rogue City to play the dlc.

Doh I bought robot cop 2 weeks ago and haven’t gotten around to playing it yet…barely touched the PlayStation since I realised I can now make games without coding. That’s how all I do.

If you enjoy the first Robocop Movie you will love the game. Granted still some boring side missions but solid game.

You do realize you have to be subscribed to the service right? They are not free. You lose access when you quit subscribing. It's no different than Netflix or Gamepass.
They are different as once you get it you keep it forever where as Netflix and Gamepass rotates out.

You do need a sub to access it however

Glad I held out and didn't buy Robocop on sale last month!

Been meaning to watch the movies at some point. I'm guessing I'll appreciate the game more after watching the movies right?

Fun fact for the original movie. It's still graphic even today.

The movie had to be re submitted 13x because it kept getting an X rating. The original Robocop is dark as fuck.

Put a couple hundred hours into TCM on Xbox. It’s a fun game but I stopped playing because it got kind of broken and easy for victims to win. Haven’t played since they added any new characters, interested in trying it out on PS5.

I will relish in being the outlier on Robocop. I love the first film. I've seen it a million times. The devs really went all out and they faithfully recreated the area he is kept in when he is not in service. The gunplay at the beginning seemed fun and violent. Then there was an early mission where you
work the desk in the police station
lol. That was funny and quirky.

Then the game had me plodding back and forth at some crime scene and it made zero sense from a video game perspective and even from a real perspective of solving crimes. Robocop is too clunky to be running back and forth between witnesses and crime scenes. They gated information during questioning just to pad the mission out and make you run back and forth to get info you could've and would've got the first time you talked to someone. They purposely put the crime scene and the subsequent follow-up locations at ass ends of the area to pad it out by making you plod all the way to the farthest points over and over again. The story and tone of it wasn't in line with the films. It was just stupid. It turned me off completely and I never went back to the game. This should've been a straight shooter. And before the defense force tries to lament the need for narrative and mission diversity: you're ROBOCOP. You're an 800lb. cyborg with a metal spike middle finger and a semi-auto handgun who annihilates criminals and fights mechs in a violent and corrupt city. Clomping back and forth at dumb crime scenes like a rookie idiot makes zero sense and is nothing more than a terrible choice of filler. If there is even one other mission/level like that, I wouldn't be able to suffer through it. And if there isn't, why the fuck would they put that there to begin with?

Texas Chainsaw can piss off because asymmetrical shooters were good for exactly two games: Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2.

Digimon is Digimon. I have it somewhere in my backlog from a deep sale but I've never played it.

I'm a console guy and PlayStation has been my primary for the last two gens, but they continue to pawn off lackluster titles every month, and when it is done after a game was just on sale, that's just scummy.

Finally a month with something that i was curious to try out. I will be Robocoping.

PS Essential is killing it lately. Even though I have Premium, it's better when games are on the Essential tier. That way I don't have to worry about if/when they may leave the service.
Reason i downgraded from Extra to Essential. Subscribing to Extra is only worth it for me when Im not subscribed for a long time so when I subscribe thers probably a good amount of games that will keep me entertained. But to stay subcribed, Essential is a better option cuz I can just add the games to my library and play then whenever I like without worring that they might be removed from the service.

It's not blockbuster by any means but it's the type of game I would have picked up in a bargain bin in 2010 and had a blast with. Need more types of games like it nowadays.

People will be finally able to witness the mediocrity that is Robocop.

Now, I love laughing emojis but I can already see the (valid) complaints :
- Too slow
- Gameplay biased towards exploration, idiotic side quests and NOT blasting fools around.
- Bad-ish game performance: heavy slowdowns (meat factory battle scenario feels.like playing in slo-mo), weird pixelation during some cutscenes, texture streaming/pop in.
- Awful, The sims-like character models and animations.
- weird difficulty spikes (ED209 battles).

IMO, It's a slog of a game and way, way, way , way overhyped, it's a 5.5 mediocre AA game through and through, one of the few games that I got burned because of NeoGAF and the good word of mouth.

Already have Robocop on PC. I could care less about Texas Asymmetrical Whatever #42 but I'll probably check out the Digimon game. I remember enjoying the first one.

RoboCop is really good and it's a clever move to offer it before the story expansion. My only major complaint was the performance in some levels, but who knows, maybe it got some improvements.

Fucking assholes. Just bought Robocop.

BTW: Robocop runs like absolute trash on PS since its latest patch. In some scenarios the game runs way below 30 fps. It's a total joke! Developers haven't bothered to fix it. VRR won't help. Game is a absolute SHIT show in performance mode. Couldn't even get a refund. Fuck Sony.

Play Robocop on PC or Xbox. On PS it's trash. It's so bad I was wondering if my PS was busted. And it isn't. The game is busted!!

I pre ordered the Alex Murphy edition at launch. Was worth it more for appreciation and support of the intent/franchise/developer than for the actual fun I had with the game. Coulda been better imo.

Robocop has been getting a lot of praise recently and deservedly so, really neat game. When played through on new game plus it's arguably even better as Robo feels like an absolute tank

It's excellent!

It's basically the canon Robocop 3 movie for me. It's kinda crazy how a game developer can make a better Robocop movie in the form of a game than the abortion Robocop 3 or that shitty modern remake Hollywood miscarried.

This is one of those rare times where I'm actually glad I haven't caved in for that recent sale lol. Will definitely give RoboCop a try

Pretty much. And these "boss battles" were among the most terrible gaming moments in the recent years.

I thought their Terminator game would have been an interesting addition, but they went straight to the more recent one. Definitely playing that. I only know Teyon so far from their semiterrible Monster Truck game.
