PlayStation Will Make More Games Like Astro Bot

They did make a 4th Sly Cooper. It's called Thieves in Time. It was released for the PS3 and Vita. It is unfairly disliked by many fans because reasons. It's actually pretty cool and I recommend a playthrough if you have the means.
It's reputation is well deserved.

Characters who are way off their established personalities, characters control worse than the previous games, horrible forced sixaxis segments, horrible load times, shit writing...

It's why I don't want a new Sly, cause this game totally derailed everything and I don't know how even the best developer would clean this mess up.

What I don't understand about Astro Bot is what is wrong with me.

Game looks great. Game plays great.

But when I hear the music I lose it. Something must be horribly wrong with me, but whenever I hear Astro Bot music I feel like that scene in the Walking Dead where Norman Reedus is locked up and tortured by having to listen to a certain kind of music over and over again.

I had to stop playing it even though I found the controls amazing.

Gotta be something wrong with you ;), I loved the music in the game. Reminds me of the catchy music from the old Sonic and Mario days.

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.

To be totally fair, the music is easily the weakest part of the game. Astro Bot’s music is miles better than Astro’s Playroom music, but it’s still nothing to write home about. It’s certainly nowhere near folks like Koji Kondo/Nintendo composers, or Sakuraba.

I wonder what's next for Astrobot, it ran out of references and gimmicks already.
I reckon the next Astro Bot game won’t be a character collect-a-thon… probably. But there are endless gimmicks they still haven’t tried out. There are sooooo many they could yank from Mario that they haven’t yet. I just played through Galaxy 1 and 2, and for how many gameplay elements Astro Bot took from those games, they left 10 times more on the table.

Frankly, I’d be fine if Astro Bot just kept taking and remixing gameplay ideas from past Mario games. So many of those ideas deserve a second game to shine in.

I understand that a lot of people don’t like him, but by the results, it seems that Totoki was the person that SIE needed the most.

Totoki has stepped down as SIE chairman to become President and CEO of Sony Group (effective April 1)

He is talking about Jim Ryan and Hermen Hulst strategy:

Tentpole + Transformational (GaaS) + Experimental (Astro Bot, Lego Horizon ...)

They have tbh. They fired jim ryan and demoted hermen which resulted in playstation canceling bluepoint and sony bends games and pivoting off of live service back to single player gaming. The new guy in charge seems to his head on straight.

No one has been fired or demoted.

Totoki will leave SIE , Nishino was appointed President and CEO, and Hermen Hulst who was appointed CEO of the Studio Business Group, will continue to serve as CEO.

Jim Ryan is a legend in Tokyo. He gifted them $20 billion and Sony threw a farewell party.

Except GAAS is failing for them , so anyone with common sense should know they should abandon GAAS

Helldivers 2, MLB, Destiny 2 and Gran Turismo 7 are successful.

'But... sales are not in 10s of millions...'

Glad that Sony recognized the thirst
. This is our default family game, both me, my son and my wife are playing it together since the release in some form.

Demon's Souls, Returnal, Rift Apart, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, Astro Bot, Lego Horizon, Saros ...

I'm playing it right now. I'll give you that some characters are kind of off-base (inconsistency is to be expected when its a different developer), but the rest is hyperbolic.

Seems like the loading times on my side have been fine. I've read/seen some people claim they've experience them last 30 secs or so. Haven't experienced that at all on my end.

Its honestly a shame it didn't do better. Sanzaru had some DLC planned. Is it flawless? No. But, its still well worth a playthrough.
