oracrest said:Thanks! I designed it myself, and found a sweet local artist that had a lot of experience doing ships before. That image you quoted is the only part that really hurt when getting it done. Got so sore over time, and it was the ship with the most solid areas on it. It still needs to get touched up. Some of the lines healed away, and the solid parts need a more solid fill-in.
This site was invaluable when working on it. TONS of high res old prints of ships, among other things.

This has been going through my mind for a while now, but I haven't jumped in for obvious reasons, but I think I am ready to seriously consider getting a tattoo.
I am very curious how others have decided upon getting their first tattoo and what the process was that they went through.

How much of the design did you completed beforehand/how much did the artist help you?

Mother caught a glimpse of it as I was stupidly trying on shirts and flipped shit until I convinced her it was temporary. So I'm taking a trip for the next month and need to be able to hide it when I get back for a week until school starts.
Yeah thats what i was planning but she wants to see that it's gone.Gui_PT said:Just keep a dark shirt on at all times? I think that'd be enough

Eh she made it perfectly clear that she'd cut me off if it's real. And I'm a solid year away of actually being able to support myself, so that's not in the cards..._dementia said:Tell her the truth?

Your tat is by far the best on here imo; thanks for the link.oracrest said:Thanks! I designed it myself, and found a sweet local artist that had a lot of experience doing ships before. I rarely see any guys with it, especially on the wrist. But I really do want to get it the way the girl in the pic above has it. Love for music is unisex right? It's really making me doubt..
Lionheart1827 said:If its making you doubt then I wouldnt get it. I would only get a tattoo if I 110% wanted it and didnt need anybody's approval. Tattoos are things that you dont want to get if you're on the fence with the design. Just my 2 cents.
Gui_PT said:Who cares? Are you getting the tattoo for yourself or for others?
If you like it, get it.

Still very pleased with it . It's placed on the inside of my upper right arm btw.
