Only one getting their knickers in a twist and arguing semantics, is you.

Go smell the fresh air for a short bit.
Clearly not semantics as clearly it's referring to the console not the studio. Otherwise every other MS owned studio would be mentioned too.

So then Phil is lying when he said no game is off the table? Also porting isn't something that is just done immediately that way you seem to think it is. There were rumors that Halo MCC was one of the games but is having major issues.
PR is PR. I have no insight into what they’re doing so I can’t comment on what’s truthful and what isn’t. I’m just waiting for the “Halo is coming to PlayStation and Switch 2” because that’s when shit gets real. Not when Flight Sim gets ported.

Xbox Games Studios is the publisher. Just like PlayStation Studios. Hence Xbox games and PlayStation games.

Why is this so hard for you?

Forza horizon or starfield makes the most sense.

Maybe flight sim, they'll be thinking of what's gonna sell the most. I don't think they are gonna do halo or gears, those will be the last one announced.

Because they know gamers will go all "Xbox is dead" and overreact when they do that

Bethesda for example publishes their own games, so Xbox Game Studios publisher doesn't have anything to do with them. Would be the same nonsense call Starfield "PC game". 🤷‍♂️

Hellblade 2 is definitely coming to actually sell some copies (and so that MS could close the studio).

Starfield is an easy pick as well. There are lots of Skyrim and (Bethesda's) Fallout fans on PlayStation and it's been over a year since the original release.

I'd say Indiana Jones already qualified as that 'big' game.
Indiana Jones has had one of the strangest sagas any game not named Starfield have had:

- Started life as a regular licensed multiplat.
- Microsoft buys Zenimax media, reveals the game with a teaser trailer.
- Microsoft decides to take all Zenimax games exclusive, and pays Disney money to kill the PS5 version of Indiana Jones.
- Microsoft buys Activision, the Indiana Jones exclusivity deal is revealed via testimony in the FTC trial.
- The Activision deal is closed and the Microsoft gaming division gets under an internal spotlight, driving a lot of decisions that prioritize raw P/L over Gamepass user growth.
- The game is announced for PS5 with a surprisingly high fanfare behind it.

Just beyond strange and tells you that the vision isn't quite clear at Microsoft Gaming.

I already thought they’d be looking for a big quarter and would release Starfield this fall and that seems unlikely now. I also thought there’d be some apparent pattern that would become apparent and that hasn’t happened. So I’ve got no idea what they’re thinking.

FH5 would sell 5-10m but I suspect they won’t bother as the licensing will cause them to de-list the game within a couple of years. They’d be better off just doing FH6 day one.

I think MCC makes sense (so does Starfield though). MCC would sell 10m on PS5 in my view, and cross play would be great for the community.

Starfield doesn't make sense at this point, it has the reputation of a disappointing if not outright bad game.
No one is going to pay full price to play a dull 5h interactive movie like Hellblade 2 either.

Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon make sense because they cover genres with little competition.
Also Halo and Gears Collections if they have future multiplatform plans for these series.

But quite frankly I'd focus on new games like Fable and Perfect Dark and give them the Indiana Jones treatment with a 3 months Xbox exclusive.

Halo would be hilarious just to witness the melt down and the final nail for Xbox

It would be on a similar scale to this…

Even though Gears or Halo would potentially have the most sales success, they will be the last to likely come to PlayStation. It makes sense for it to be Starfield. They could likely squeeze a million sales on the PS5 and nobody would care if Microsoft brought it to PlayStation.

A million would be a colossal disappointment. If it had been day and date, I'd say 7 million is a good number on Bethesda alone.

Right now, I think it could get 3-4 million.

Halo MCC and Gears Fenix trilogy would easily get 5M each.

At this point, that is almost free money for Xbox/MS. No reason to not do it.

I think if it launched day 1 on PlayStation it would have sold 4 to 7 million but the game has been memed to death at this point so only the hardcore Bethesda gamer will likely buy it now if it was on the PlayStation.

I think it'll be Hellblade first, then Starfield, then Avowed.
After that, I'm not really sure.

I can't imagine they'll bring Forza Motorsport to other platforms because over on PS it would compete directly with Gran Turismo. But Gran Turismo doesn't have a Forza Horizon equivalent, so I can see that being ported over. Especially since it's a GaaS of sorts with lots of DLC and car packs they can make a bunch from.

Gears... I'm not sure that'll go multiplatform until Gears E-Day. Depending on how well that does, then I imagine they might consider greenlighting a Marcus Fenix collection they can release multiplatform.

Halo just seems to be a complete mess entirely. Their window for porting over Halo Infinite and being able to financially capitalize on multiplayer buzz has long since slammed shut.

The 2023 GOTY, Starfield. Watch an influx of people buy it too despite the neg user reviews.

And then probably Halo Infinite. It's getting the 3rd person camera view, just needs a sexuality slider then it's ready for the Sony seal of quality.

More over than saying that "Xbox" and "Xbox Game Studios" is the same thing.
Microsoft considers "Xbox" the brand, encompassing their hardware and software. The slightest bit of context should let you know this was about XGS games.

Dont care for any of these other than fligjt simulator.

They are all good games but not my style plus there are better alternatives

Out of those starfield is the most likely. For 1 it bombed.. 2 it's not a staple Xbox series.

Avowed. Ironically, think they ones they keep off ps are halo, Forza, gears.
I remember listening to a gaming podcast at work, and in it, MAGG (Middle Aged Game Guy, also known as Colt Eastwood's cohost on XNC) made the point that them going with a prequel rather than a direct sequel to Gears 5 (which supposedly ended with a sequel hook) kinda hints at the fact the new Gears game will be multiplatform day 1. I actually think he's correct in his thinking.

I think Forza is complicated by the fact that it relies a lot on car licenses.
