Just finished running the downloader, checked all the files on the SD, things look to be up and running now. Time to check out this bad boy.
I'm no computer expert but for some reason your SD card seems to be partitioned...MiniDitka said:Is it normal for my sd card to have two drives? I have an E at 952mb and a G at 28mb. I'm really confused.
I give up
Both partitions are fat. Tried to delete them but it wouldn't let me so I reformatted them but still end up with two(952mb,28mb) Anyhow I installed it to the bigger partition instead of just coping the file like I did before and it seemed like it was doing the trick but when I went to play I got the same result : ( Think I'm gonna go to bed and forget about this.Barrow Roll said:I'm no computer expert but for some reason your SD card seems to be partitioned...
Try reformatting your SD card to FAT. Then follow the instructions here:

Remember, make sure to check the 'Hackless' option.
Is the SD card you're using compatible with Brawl in the first place? Could you save replays and such before downloading? During installation did you make sure to check the 'hackless' option?MiniDitka said:Both partitions are fat. Yeah I used it before to save pics and replays so I'm not sure whats going on. Appreciate the help.Barrow Roll said:Is the SD card you're using compatible with Brawl in the first place? By tomorrow I think they'll have the .zip files up for download which will let you manually copy the necessary files to your SD. If you still can't figure it out then I'll try my best to help.
As for demo impressions, it's awesome. I've already played an earlier build but as I expected, it's even more polished. The new menu graphics are nice, and wavedashing is even more refined and smoother than before. It plays extremely well.
Try running it again. The first few times I ran it I only got the texture files for Sonic and the custom music but that was when they first released it. It's been working fine for me now.mugwhump said:Hrm, I think the autoinstaller's download messed up. Sometimes a char has their old moves, but some of them have the new ones. And the only new stage that works so far is mini-temple.
Is your copy of Brawl NTSC? The demo only works on NTSC Brawl so far.elektrixx said:I can boot the game from Gecko, but it gives a "No codes found" error and then just boots Vanilla Brawl.
PAL (AU) launch Wii.
If you use the Stage Builder option, it will only installed temporarily So the next time you start the game, everything will be normal again and you have to use the Stage Builder methode again, everytime you wanna play Projekt:M.Willy105 said:If I install this, I can still revert it back if I want to, right?

When you unzipped the file did you transfer the folder or the just the files to the sd card?A Pretty Panda said:Ok it's working for me now. I downloaded this zip instead of the installer and it works fine.
Uh l-canceling feels a bit slow, might have to do with the increased falling speed everyone's talking about.
Anyone know if I can get textures and custom music on a hackless wii?

Missed that line did we?
No one is stopping you from playing your copy of Brawl with any mods that you want. Plus any of those mods can also be used with Project M. So we can enjoy the same mods as you but with Melee gameplay.

I will still look down on you, if that makes you feel better.TSA said:So when I inevitably bitch about Skyward Sword's motion plus controls because I don't like waggle for swordplay and spearhead a mod project to restore GCN controls (or at least Classic Controller Pro) to the game, the same logic should apply.

For those who respectively disagree with what we're doing and recognize that this in no way, shape, or form affects them if they simply navigate to another window and put it out of their mind: Thank you for not being haters.

Melee gameplay is much worse then Brawls. It's slippery, heavy, and far clunkier.

This is like if SF fans took SF 4 PC and modded it to be Third Strike or something. It's "cool" you can do it, I just don't really see the need - you had a great game already.
Yes it should and it will. If you want to play Skyward Sword without motion control then more power to you. In fact, it should be included from the get go for those that don't want to dick around with motion controls just like DKCR should have had Classic Controller support without Homebrew.TSA said:So when I inevitably bitch about Skyward Sword's motion plus controls because I don't like waggle for swordplay and spearhead a mod project to restore GCN controls (or at least Classic Controller Pro) to the game, the same logic should apply.
The project lead for Project M spearheaded Brawl+ for a time. The more you know!I kinda thought that part of Brawl Plus/Balanced Brawl's code was responsible for enabling hacks,
And this is where subjectivity comes into the mix. A lot of players think Brawl's gameplay is a regression. Different doesn't mean more or better. Factually, Brawl removed a lot of techniques that gave the player options for approaching situations. Brawl added some too, but Project M combines the best of both games. I would call that moving forward.I loved Melee, I just think Smash needs to move forward, not stay still.
I'm no Street Fighter expert but I'm gonna assume that SSF4 has new characters that aren't in 3S? Has better graphics too? New techniques that could probably make a game better than the sum of it's parts? Then more power to them. This is like if SF fans took SF 4 PC and modded it to be Third Strike or something. It's "cool" you can do it, I just don't really see the need - you had a great game already.
Then why not just stay away from them and threads that may or may not be associated with them? The OP already stated that you didn't need to be a competitive player to enjoy the mod. Some people simpler prefer Melee's gameplay to Brawl's and want new stages, a more balanced cast of characters, new characters, basically Melee 2. The Project M team is giving these people the sequel they wanted out of Brawl but nobody is changing your copy of the game. If you like Brawl then just pop it in your Wii and play it. If you have a problem with this mod, well there isn't anything you can do to stop it so why not kindly just close the tab or go to a different thread? To me, Project M just seems like the "competitive" end of the Smash spectrum upset at Brawl's lack of balance and slow pace, so let's fix it to make it competitive again. You will lose all of your custom stages built with the stage builder, yes. You could always back them up before running Project M.Threi said:so to use this (unhacked method) you will lose all your stages?
I can use the gecko-os method but i'd rather the unhacked one because its quicker to choose which version i want to play.

The second issue is more superfluous, namely why is Fox 100% Melee'd? There is 0 mixture or even experimentation to try and blend old Fox withsuperiornew Fox gameplay wise.

IF YOU HAVE AN SDHC CARD AND ARE PLANNING TO USE THE HACKLESS WII OPTION IT WILL NOT WORK. YOU NEED A 2GB SD CARD OR LOWER FOR BOTH OPTIONS (Gecko OS option, not Riivo) AND HACKLESS OPTION
Otherwise character files will not work.
