Man, I expected this thread to move a lot faster. All my pro melee friends are currently playing it non-stop this weekend. (they recently held a Melee tournament a couple weeks ago, and M2K was here, yadda yadda). Hopefully when all the characters are done and we have an OT we'll get more discussion and excitement going.
Yes it's a shame. I think all it'll take is one big tournament to get a lot more people to try it out.Man, I expected this thread to move a lot faster. Deleting just your saved custom stages should be sufficient.Perhaps I'm just an idiot but I haven't been able to get this to run right yet. Do I have to delete ALL of my save data, in addition to the stages data? I don't know if I can part with all of my data...

Not much can really be done, haha. Pretty awesome to hear though that your Melee friends are playing it a lot! The best thing anyone can do for us right now is to have side events for PM at Melee tourneys or something. And of course video footage!
Videos would help spread the word, as would word of mouth! (But IGN sort of did that for us a bit, we've had a hectic few days because of their coverage).
Hmm, odd. I'll try it again later today
M2K is ok, I'm currently running his 64/Melee Stage Expansion Pack in Project M with no problems.Man, I expected this thread to move a lot faster. I was even able to merge both gct files from the Stage Expander pack and Project M, into one single file without any issues! So i keep the physics and things of PM but have all the old stages from 64/Melee in the Melee Stage Selection Screen:
It now looks like it did in melee, like this:
If anyone wants the files you can drop into your SD card, PM me. They work fine with CFGUSB Loader when you enable Ocarina Cheats.
M2K is ok.
Um, by M2K, he means Mew2king (the competitive Smasher). Not... Mewtwo2000 (the stage maker) LOL.
Mewtwo2000 is commonly written as M22K to cause less confusion.
I'd love the files, but to activate it all can I just start it up like I do Project M in the stage builder stage, or do I have to download any additional homebrew software or whatever onto my Wii to get this to work? Thanks.
When it's done. Expect it to be called Project M Forever.Asked in the chatroom and they said a PAL version is going to get made once the original Project M is completely finished and made. Soooo any guesses on when that's going to be? D:
Yes the files should work just fine with stage builder mod as well.
2 Bugs:
-The Melee Stage page has 4 stages that are shown but not used ( because the community hasn't completed them yet, if you click on them your game will freeze). Icicle Mountain, Pokefloats, Brinstar Depths, Mute City.
-Also trying to edit the Melee Stage Page Music in "My Music" will freeze the wii as well (not like you need to, since the imported stages have their appropriate music imported as well),
Everything else is fine... Nostalgia Trip, Ahoy!
The files are 313MB, where can i Upload them to?

Kidding, but they don't have any sort of timeline as far I know. Just whenever it's ready, you don't rush greatness. You can probably bank on before Smash 4 though.
Brawl doesn't have servers. It's not something P:M can fix.I'm definitely gonna be trying this soon.
Does the online play work well? As in, little to no lag?
So will the Hackless version work with cards greater than 2GB? I went out tonight and couldn't find one less than 8GB and picked that up.Additionally, make sure to use the installer! Also, be sure you pick hackless (it's not the first option). And make sure you have the Nintendo specific custom stages deleted as well (the ones they send you and/or any default ones). Wii console AND SD Card, to be perfectly clear.

But I'll keep at it though!
That makes sense, hm. Will pick one up off of Amazon Prime then, thanksNo, Hackless will not work with cards greater than 2 GB. The reason is because Brawl doesn't recognize SD Cards bigger than 2 GB because it was released before the Wii got the 4.0 update which allowed it to recognize those cards. And since Nintendo can't patch Wii games, Brawl was left in the dust in regards to this functionality.
Hope you find a 2 GB one soon though.
I haven't played the first Project M demo in months but I feel like I'm having a harder time running and picking up an item now. My friends and I were playing it over the weekend and we were all turned off by the loss of momentum.
Unicorn said:Down air + down air + fart is so awesome. Like he's trying to slam out that fart and it finally comes out. Sweet release.
You're probably not used to 0 buffer. Turn on Buffer in the options and put it at 100% (100% = 10 frames, Brawl's default).
Otherwise, if you didn't have that trouble with Demo 1 I'm not sure... what could be the problem. Nothing much was changed as far as sensitivity goes from Demo 1 to Demo 2.
You could try this:

Or you could upload two different parts on http://www.sendspace.com
I've heard maybe within 6 months ~ the end of the year, but no promises.
sorry for the long wait:

Got a chance to try this today with one of my buddies. The game felt a lot better to play (a lot more like Melee). Being able to do short combos again was awesome, and it felt a little bit faster/more responsive overall. Capt. Falcon in particular was pretty much back to his old self for me, which was really awesome to see.
We noticed a few bugs while playing too. When I got some of the spicy curry as Ness, I lost control of my character, and when my friend knocked me off, the death animation played but I didn't lose a life or respawn. He had to suicide to end it and it showed Ness as the winner! Another bug we found was Fox performing Foxfire (up+B) while slowed down from the clock power-up. He flew from one side of the screen all the way to the other side to his death. Is there anywhere we can report these?
Overall it was pretty damn awesome. I'm just waiting to get a few more friends in on this and trying out some big ol' 4 player free-for-alls like in the old days.
Bugs with the items are known. Right now the devs are focusing in itemless balance, when they finish that, they will fix everything else.
I completely forgot to ask this, can you use items?
...anyone?
Glitches but yes?
Or i'm confusuing pm with brawl+?

Does this have PM's skin/color scheme?
Also I'm salty. Bought a new GCN controller because my Wavebird just started to show its age... and it turns out the damn thing's busted right out of the box. smh
Can anyone let me know if it has worked for them?
@Revven: From what I understand, you're one of Project M's developers, right? Me and my friends had a go at both demos and we're having a blast! It's obvious there's been much effort and love put into this, so thank you very much.
I just tried it (copy pasted the files on the root of my SD card) and it didn't seem to work on my unmodded Wii.
Is there any way to enjoy the tweaks made by Project M without the removal of all the stuff that was taken out (like characters, stages, and the ability to use custom stages)?
I don't know about custom stages, but regarding characters, if they're not in, it means they're not done. So if you were to put the missing ones back in, they would be as they are in vBrawl, and you wouldn't really be enjoying anything.
