PS5 Pro Owners Only: How Satisfied Are You with PS5 Pro?

Somewhat satisfied. I've been a huge critic and disapproved of the initial showing, the price, the decision to separate the disc drive, and most of all - what it means for base PS5 owners from here on out (not good news). It's mostly a tech demo for next gen consoles.
I bought my Pro discounted mostly for MH Wilds. Have played a couple of Pro Enhanced games and so far, it's doing what it advertised - letting me play games at 60fps without large compromises in fidelity (compared to base PS5 resolution preset). I don't think it's a must have for most people, and certainly not at full price. Maybe with a $100 price drop I could recommend it to new PS5 owners with some caveats.
I think it will improve in time though, with advancements in PSSR and future games that will be built with the extra power in mind. So while I don't like the precedent it sets for base PS5 owners, I won't have to worry as a Pro owner - it will continue to be the best way to play on consoles.

I voted "mostly satisfied" as the PS5 PRO is pretty much exactly what I thought it would be which is a better PS5 but not perfect. It delivers great boosts in most games and is a bigger step up from the base PS5 than the PS4 PRO was over the base PS4 (IMO). As I've said before, that's largely because the ecosystem has changed quite a bit now with PS5 compared to PS4 where now we have 120hz support, HDMI 2.1, and VRR which allows the PS5 PRO to show advantages that the PS4 PRO could not. Remember, 90% of all PS4 PRO games ran at the exact same FPS as the base PS4 (which was 30fps at that) and the vast majority of games simply doubled the rendering resolution from 1080p-1440p without even bumping up graphics settings (most PS4 PRO games couldn't hit a 4K render target). Sure you got a bit more sharpness on a 4K screen, but by and large the PS4 PRO difference was uninteresting and not very noticeable.
With PS5 PRO, the difference is much larger on several levels. The additional RT capabilities literally transform still A/B comparisons in many games including Alan Wake 2, GT7, Silent Hill 2, Dead Rising Remastered, Monster Hunter Wild, Spider Man 2, and the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows (just to name a few). Many games are adding 120hz support (via 40hz modes) and VRR to allow perf to push well beyond what the base PS5 could achieve. Games like Steller Blade, Black Ops 6, TLOU PT1 and PT2, and The RE remake titles all run at much higher framerates (60+) while still looking better than the base console. Also, PSSR is a meaningful improvement over FSR (1-3) especially, transforming motion IQ in several games including FFVII rebirth, Space Marine 2, Black Myth Wukong, Monster Hunter Wild, Alan Wake 2, and Lords of the Fallen. Finally, the raw GPU perf (with and without a dedicated patch) has given meaningful Boosts to a host of games such as Horizon 1&2 (boosted IQ and perf), Elden Ring (pretty much native 4K/60 now on Pro), Callisto Protocol (4K/60 w/RT in Perf mode), Baldur's Gate 3, Dragon's Dogma 2, Helldivers 2, and a host of UE5 titles that struggled on the base PS5 like Lords of the Fallen, Robocop, Immortals of Aveum now look and run much better on the PRO. Not to mention that the PRO is technically and officially the first ever 8K capable console with a handful of titles with 8K output modes including No Man's Sky, GT7, F1 24, and Callisto Protocol.
The downside for me is the number of cases where we've seen the PRO versions actually look and/or perform worse than the base version which should never happen. The classic cases of Alan Wake 2 (initial patch), Silent Hill 2, Jedi Survivor, Avatar, and Star Wars Outlaws were serious disappointments and while nearly all of them have been fixed and are clearly better than the base versions, it highlights that there is still some ways to go for the tech to mature and for devs to figure out how to best utilize the new console.
Ultimately, it's impossible for me to go back to a base PS5 so the PRO has delivered on it's value proposition to me

You can still add a drive. Myself I have been digital since the latter half of PS3 gen. No big deal for me.

That's one of the problems with the Pro, some people expected a generational leap and dont look at it as just an upgraded/updated version of the PS5. The price dictated high expectations.

I get it but it's a subjective thing, I feel like Pro is adequately priced for what you get and compared to relative components prices (GPU,CPUs) in this current climate. Hell compared to similar consoles (Series S 1TB is $349! Why wouldn't a x6 more powerful device (Raw power, not including ML benefits) be x6 as expensive? Its simply double the price for so much more!

I got one this week. I like it so far. I'm coming at it from a 4090 PC, and a lot of the time, it feels very solid and competitive. I picked up a black PS Portal with it, and that's been the game changer for me. Playing the PS5 Pro on the couch on the Portal is maximum comfy, even more so than a Steam Deck + Moonlight/Sunshine. Bigger screen, more stable, better framerate, proper sizing, and everything works.
I got it because I want the best versions of Sony's games, I don't want to wait for a YMMV PC port to appear, and because there are things that I just like better on console - Call Of Duty, for instance. So, I'm pretty happy with it so far.

There are people who responded to the poll who are far from what anyone would call a "hardcore Sony fan".
Completely satisfied because it's smaller, silent, games runs better at least the ones I'm interested. PSSR is better than FSR but of course needs to be improved. Some games the updates are not great sure but that's on the dev not the hardware. 2tb more than enough for me... it's a big upgrade from the 825gb. What i wanted is play games at 60fps with better IQ or maybe 40fps with better IQ or RT at minimum. No more 30fps this gen except for some games. Hopefully the games to come will benefit more from the Pro. PSVR2 games that support Pro are great. GT7 on psvr2 is awesome. Still think it should have the disk included but it's a good console. Is better than the ps4 pro. Had a ps4 pro and sold it but with the ps5 pro it's not the case.

It was always a purchase that would increase in value as we go deeper into the generation. It's not even 6 months old yet.
It's boosted current games with more stability and in some cases delivered better performance profiles. PSSR is a mixed bag but again, this will improve in time. I trust most Pro consumers knew the value proposition with their purchase.

Completely satisfied. I bought it to play games like GT7 in VR at the best quality and it totally delivers. Playing the best version of Sony’s games at launch is nice too. Even though I own a high-end rig I don’t have the patience to wait however long it takes for games to be ported to PC, I like to play them day one and the PS5 Pro lets me enjoy them at their best at launch. GTA6 later this year will be the icing on the cake. I know for sure it will look and probably run significantly better on the Pro than the base PS5 and I’m looking forward to that.

I don't understand why people keep tripping on the price! I'll go further and say that the PS5 PRO is a bargin for what it offers in today's reality. People need to realize that for the first time ever 4 years into a console generation, the price of the base console has not gone down. In fact, it is now still higher than it was at launch!
Perspective people:
A Digital Edition PS5 actually retails for $450 (was $400 at launch). So the PS5 PRO is a $250 premium.
But let's neutralize the SSD effect where the Digital Edition includes a 1TB SSD and the PRO includes a 2 TB SSD. So to get 1TB of additional SSD storage on par with the performance of the PS5 SSD, it'll cost you roughly $100.
So if you wanted a base PS5 Digital Edition with 2TB of total storage, you're looking at closer to $550 for your total investment. From there the PRO would be an additional $150 or +27% more $$
Ok so for 27% more money you get:
- A GPU that is 67% larger in terms of shading power
- 2-3x faster Ray Tracing performance
- 300 TOPS of machine learning performance not present on the base (used to power PSSR for now)
- 28% more memory bandwidth
- 2GB more total RAM
- Total net performance that often exceeds 2x over the base
- Faster Wifi 7 capability
- Smaller more efficient form factor

This upgrade is niche, most people who got on board already knew what to expect, and those who didn't like what they saw (price and/or performance in games that you can see on YouTube) didn't even buy it.

The OP wants to understand what the consensus is from people who have hands on experience with the system. He was pretty clear in outlining that in the OP. Why is that combined with the outcome upsetting you?
If someone dosen't own something or have tried something how will it know if it's good or bad? If a donut in taking your example is a good or bad? If you do not like donut it's fine but you can't say if it's a good or bad. You simply don't like it and that's it.

It's a satisfaction poll for people who purchased and use the product. If you want a more general poll, create one. Your analogy is also terrible as just because someone likes donuts doesn't mean they love the donut they are eating, be it the particular flavor or the companies recipe. There is a reason market research exists.

Yup it's canny. I upgraded the base PS5 to it under the understanding it would probably be my last console before moving completely over to PC since all titles seem to be coming over. I wanted the best PS5 I could get for my library.
Of course, with the current state of the GPU market, I might have to revise that plan. My 3090 based PC is gonna have to last a while longer.
I digress, it's a nice quiet system and is great for if I wanna sit with the kids and do some co-op or don't fancy sitting in my office chair after a day of graft. Not sure I'd recommend it to a fresh casual owner though. It doesn't really offer much more imo than the base PS5 if you use it casually or as a secondary machine.

I’m so satisfied that I am going to skip PS6 and just upgrade when PS6 Pro comes out. This gen has showed that the base console will always end up being unusable for newer games, and I have a ton of games to play until then. Plus I’ll have an instant catalogue of cheaper new games to play on PS6 Pro.

Being somewhat satisfied is not a "negative emotion" no matter how hard you try to spin your bullshit. Neutral is 0 and everything above is positive. And the majority is "completely satisfied". Even if you were to count somewhat satisfied as a negative you would still be wrong too.
