Queen Elizabeth II has passed away

No, it´s not.

A terrible loss for the country. I’ve sat and thought about everything she’s seen or been privy to in her life and it’s astonishing to consider the changes the world has gone through.

I also love the ‘dead bat’ media tactic she often used. Charles and William don’t have the steely temperament for that, so things will get messy.

as a former subject of her Majesty and the Commonwealth, I'm truly saddened by the news. no matter the opinion on her position and her actions, she had seen, experienced, and endured more than most people had lived. she's an extraordinary woman and may she rest in peace.

and any piece of human waste who gloats over her Majesty's death can go <censored>.

My condolences to the folks across the pond who admired her. She had quite an interesting life, that's for sure. As an American, I can't say that I truly understand the emotional significance of royalty, but I can respect it as a historically and culturally significant institution that provided a sense of pride, identity, and happiness for lots of people. I hope we can all take some inspiration from her accomplishments.

This feels very surreal, as today is a historic moment. RIP, Your Majesty.

Also, REEEEE is really showing their true asses. They still have not realized that if you gloat and celebrate the suffering and/or death of people, you are literally not a good person. Period. Even if you are enemies with someone, and even if you are forced to kill said enemy, you can feel relief, or determined, or at peace. But if you take enjoyment out of the act, you are a bad human being. It really is that simple.

I’m not from the UK, but man the news is still sad. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a bad thing about her and I absolutely hope it stays that way. Rest In Peace, for she has earned peace.

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.

Anyone have any good links to objective but fair articles, opinion pieces, or Youtube videos describing the life and times of Her Majesty?

There are already a load.

You can't go wrong with the BBC though, or if you want a slightly contrarian view, The Guardian (though even they are showing a lot of respect). Or just Wikipedia.

Pretty much anything mainstream will be fine though, and cover the controversies during her reign (if it seems like there's a lack of them, that's because there simply just weren't that many for 70 years).

You’re free to have your opinion. I think the global viewing figure for her funeral will prove otherwise.

I totally get that in a mediatic form it is a big deal. Media will get their clicks, tv will get their views, and everybody will move on, but that´s about it.

Can’t imagine going through life so disconnected and unaffected and so out of touch with genuine human emotion across the globe at the passing of a historical icon. Feel for you.

True, I have perused those, but I what I was getting at was to see if anyone has any specific material that they have already seen pre-passing that stuck out strongly enough in their memories to be worthy of noting.

Watch the Crown. It's legitimately a great show and quite (as my elders have told me) accurate.

But seriously, do watch it, it's awesome.
Like this one! Cool, will investigate.

Can you wait till tomorrow? Papers and websites will be full of them.
I could, but I wanted to see what people thought about her while she was still alive. Any new content created from today will of course have the context of her death.

I mean do you expect them not to give coverage to the death of the Queen of England?.

Sure, but also I would expect them to give coverage to those areas where thousands of people and kids will die today. It´s just sad that we as mankind have grown so indifferent.

I totally get that and I respect it, my critique is more about the masses conciousness and media manipulation.
