The Queen, or now King, could take over the country at any point if they wanted to. The armed forces are sworn to the monarch, not the government.

So what happens to polymer notes? The paper money was gradually replaced in the past but these notes are basically indestructible. If the banks don't pull them they'll keep circulating for more than a decade, maybe even when William is king.

Technically there is always the possibility they leave her on the 20, and just change the coins.

Imagine a forum where you can be banned for sneezing in the wrong way, but taking the piss oit of the death of the Queen of England is somehow accepted.

Hopefully they get a bit of a backlash with this.
 
I'm no fan of the concept of royalty (we have it in Sweden too), I'm neither happy nor sad about this. Just an old person who died. After a very good amount of years lived, more than most people get.

Now Charles will become king?

Rip to the old bird. I don't believe in having a monarchy, even as window dressing, but you could have done a lot worse and for that you get the well wishes.

Sadly it feels like its whats left there for the most part. At least when it comes to controversial "politically laced" topics. You get the "funny/mean hot take" then the pile on begins. No knowledge of how it affects UK or what royalty does in the country but I can always sympathize with people losing their loved ones.
