I have a lot of fun playing BF 2042 despite its major flaws.
^^ This is more true than false. Most you can easily identify when they point out which one is their exclusive only box.People who buy multiple consoles and claim to not have a preference are liars.
The Witcher 3 is insane boring and I can’t play more than 1 hour or it. Geralt of Rivera or whatever is just BORING
Exact opposite for me. The PS5 collects dust and my XSX gets all the play. The Xbox is the better value by FAR at this moment. Maybe when PlayStation releases some games it’ll change up but for now… nahYes and no. Most days it’s clear to me that Sony makes the best games. Then I play something on Switch or Gamepass and switch sides. But overall I prefer Sony.
While I’m at it, here’s my not so controversial opinion. The gap between Sony and MS 1st is vast. Almost night and day. This became evident when I finally secured a PS5 and saw my Series X collecting dust. Prior to the 5’s arrival I’d sing the praises of Gamepass. Saw and appreciated the variety of titles, big and small. And enjoyed raising the gamerscore on my newest account.
Then comes the SexStation. 1st game I played was Miles Morales and HOLYSHIT. Blown away. This coming from someone that hated on PS4 Spiderman due to pacing issues. Then played TLOU2, now on Ghost of Tsushima. The difference in quality is obvious. Better story telling, immersion, graphics.
Put it like this. It’s easy for me to turn off Xbox. I have to pry myself away from the PlayStation. Just one more mission, I’ll stop after the next cutscene. Hour passes and I’m still telling myself the same thingTheir games suck me in.
I only know one person that has both consoles at launch. Somehow he lucked out and got both within a few weeks of each other. Anyway, he has said the same thing, he has hardly used his PS5 the past 6 months. He played the titles early on that came out, then its been nothing but gamepass for him after that. Going to be interesting to see how things play out with both platforms.Exact opposite for me. The PS5 collects dust and my XSX gets all the play. The Xbox is the better value by FAR at this moment. This.Gamers have the memory of a goldfish and are easily exploited by big companies through microtransaction and fake hype trains.
I enjoyed Metroid: Other M. I'll take the heat.
My man. I will add some oil to the fire:I enjoyed Metroid: Other M. I'll take the heat.
There's nothing controversial about not liking shitty controls.Won't play any RE game with tank controls.
how is this controversial?Gamers have the memory of a goldfish and are easily exploited by big companies through microtransaction and fake hype trains.
Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, etc will all do better than the GAAS Marvel's AvengersGaming is entering a new age where AAAA (GAAS) dominates. The size, budgets, and revenue of these games will dwarf everything we know of right now. AAA (single player) will still exist but will live in the shadow of AAAA and will diminish from the shade.
Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, etc will all do better than the GAAS Marvel's Avengers
GAAS doesn't mean automatic success and the idea behind GAAS is not to increase the budget to AAAA, it is to monetize for maximum profit
This may be true but there will always be a market for polished single player games. Every gamer doesn’t want to mindlessly shoot people online while paying real money for digital clothes and gear.Fortnite, PUBG, and Warzone all individually will do better ($$$) than Forbidden West + Elden Ring + Ragnarok combined.
But that's not even half of it.
Forbidden West, Elden Ring, and Ragnarok all represent refined, polished, big budget experiences. They'll all sell ~15 million units. The path to 30 million, or 60 million units is unknown.
Fortnite, PUBG, and Warzone all represent the first versions of Frankensteins monster. The entire industry studied those 3 and are currently pumping resources towards monster 2.0.
GAAS has huge growth potential.
AAA does not.
Hence AAAA.
You seem to have this notion that there's going to be so many other mega hit GAAS games when history has showed us that 9/10 of them don't reach the level of Fortnite, PUBG and CODFortnite, PUBG, and Warzone all individually will do better ($$$) than Forbidden West + Elden Ring + Ragnarok combined.

Most of them fail
Meanwhile strong SP games are thriving and getting tons of praise
Those SP standouts will make more money than the failed GAAS attemptsWe agree.
And yet AAAA is still...

In nature, there's always fewer apex predators.
Also: "Getting tons of praise" always loses out to "Making tons of money."
Are you sure? I was under impression that even failed gaas is more profitable than decent sp game. Those SP standouts will make more money than the failed GAAS attempts

If no one plays it, it won't make money, while a SP game selling 5 million units at $60 is already $300,000,000 in revenueAre you sure? I was under impression that even failed gaas is more profitable than decent sp game.
