Truly embarrassing outcome. You can argue this was greenlit well before the Bethesda purchase, but it's Microsoft's job to have ensured a final release was polished and good enough for the $70 asking price. Especially after the delay.

Arkane needs to do better. That's 5 years of work down the drain in a subpar project... Not to mention the resources they pulled off ID for the gunplay.

They'll need to focus on a spectacular June showcase and nailing Starfield

It's also a dumb view people have on the industry that you need to spend this much time with a game, especially a bad one, to be able to review it. I think most people can tell a game is gonna be shit in under 10 hours.

IGN is running a ton of Redfall ads and had an exclusive coverage deal with them. That's why they won't attach a score.

3 days of having the code is 30 hours to play.

When I get a review code that's a 12 hour day for me with breaks.

You have to be dumb at all levels of your org to release this game in a poor state now. Halloween delay on the table and just right to polish what's here, maybe find 10/100's of fun with the heat off.

I feel so bad thay I might use this as a chance to play one of Arkanes bangers, starting with Dishonored 1. I haven't played any of their games.

That doesn't make Redfall's launch state feel any less shady. If Xbox plans to use Game Pass as an early access hub, then the terms need to be clear. Players deserve to know when they're spending $70 on potential, and potential alone.
