That settles it for me. I'm getting a PS5. I thought xbox would be enough for my gaming needs, however I'm tired of the mediocrity with their first party output and most 3rd party games being superior on PS. Redfall is the straw that broke the camels back. I'll hang onto my Xbox as I want to believe they can release bangers, plus Gamepass really is the best deal in gaming, but so far it's disappointment after disappointment and I want the best gaming experience for my hard earned dollars. Feels like last Xbox One vs PS4 all over again.

I didn't see that but I did see something similar and couldn't believe it.

Then about 15 seconds later the texture loaded.

It's a shame, you can see what they're trying to do in the first few minutes, but as soon as you encounter an enemy it goes to pot.

100% not ready for release.

Ok, I can excuse bad performance on launch, but after watching Matty's review this doesn't look like Arkane. I'll check in after I get done with TotK to see if anything's unfucked.
 
Yikes. Everyone seen this train coming from a mile away. I personally had been worried since the reveal, due to the setting and it being a co op shooter. I pre downloaded but am going to have to pass. I have so little free time now days

No one is "hating on Xbox". People work hard on all games. We aren't mocking the devs, we are mocking the publisher for rushing a game that clearly was not ready for deployment.

IIRC, there was a journalist Sophia Narwitz that used to frequent here that stated the studio was undergoing major issues from two camps. One wanted to push GAAS design and slacktivist ideology, the other wanted to focus on making ImmSims and good stories. You can tell who won with the recent track record.
 
Jesus. MS greenlit this for release and even further development? The reviews coming out on YouTube make it look like a half assed indie game… it doesn't look fun at all.

This is the problem when your goal is engagement instead of selling copies. Maybe the game was something else but Microsoft made them turn it into a co op looter shooter? It would explain why it seems so unfinished and rushed. I find it hard to believe this was all arkanes idea.

Mr Matty review is excellent he's calling out reviewers who ignored Deathloops problems and apparently this is a very short game 12 ish hours with him damn near doing everything he could find to do.
 
I was genuinely scratching my head at all the footage that had released, failing to see what many people claimed to have been seeing. It looked uninspired, for lack of a better word...just soulless, and visually quite horrendous. I feel bad for the Arkane developers, because this is a case of a group of people spending years on a bad premisse/idea. No amount of crunch could have saved this, unfortunately (or fortunately, for those who would have sacrificed some more time on it).

Well Phil has literally told everyone he doesn't have a clue what he's doing before so I don't know why this comes as a surprise:

"Teams are doing a really good job on keeping our hardware on track, I'd say the bigger unknown is probably the game production - just being honest," said Spencer.

"On the hardware side, we feel good about our plans, there's some impact on our schedules, but overall we're in line with where we thought we would be. On the game production side, we're learning every day, I still feel good about it, but I also need to ensure the security and the safety of our teams is the most important thing and not unduly push when things aren't ready."

It's becoming extremely clear that Microsoft Gaming doesn't care about the image of their studios or the quality of the games they publish.

Nintendo nor Sony would have released this game in this state. They would have moved the project to a more competent team if they liked the game's potential.

Microsoft doesn't give a damn about their fans, their customers, or their teams. What a shitshow.

Would Halo be in the state it's in under Don "play a 360 offline on submarine toilet " Mattrick?

I'm not a big Halo guy , look at what the franchise is currently going through, it's even free to play and still can't gain a big regular player base or one it should do . Halo! A once massive IP , one that is supposed to be the pillar of Xbox first party.

Back in the 360 days or even the early Xbox One days , would you have believed it would of turned out like that. ?

It's time for more fans to start speaking out. If that upcoming summer showcase is yet another bland array of mediocre showings and people still won't speak up, it's beyond farce.
