Rings of Power Season 2 Trailer Released

IDKFA

I am Become Bilbo Baggins
Except a huge complaint is that people said Gandalf coming to ME in the second age DESTROYS canon, when Tolkien wrote that he was in ME as early as the First Age.

That is a valid complaint.

The definitive timeline for Gandalf's arrival is established in The Lord of the Rings. In the Appendices, it states that Gandalf came to Middle-earth in the Third Age to aid the free peoples against the Shadow. This was published material.

While Tolkien's later writings may have suggested alternative possibilities, these were never published works and most likely were never going to be (see previous post). Therefore, the Third Age arrival remains the established canon as intended by its creator.

From what I've read (haven't watched the second season yet, at this point it just reads like I will be wasting my time) they should just cancel this show.

Who remembers the build up trailers from the first season, where they had a group of viewers (paid actors) pretend they were into Tolkien's stories? Judging a book by its cover, they pick a demographic that didn't in the slightest seem they would even care for Lord of The Rings. I can't find that trailer currently, don't know if Amazon ditched it since it felt pushed and not genuine.

They pick a demographic that doesn't even read books, pretending they read books, especially with the complexity of his writings.

The "modern audience" doesn't exist. They propagate and manufacture the illusion of it. Bomb after bomb.

I will continue to say this through these Rings of Power post, once they fired/let go of Tom Shippey, it was the last nail in the coffin and that was two year prior to ROP being released.

He has stated that he told the writers that they're tainting the lore of Tolkien's work.

Amazon, and the writers of this series made too much of a effort to include a modern audience that has a certain want from their series and ended up pushing fans of the books and films that came before.

They should have made Gandalf a non-binary sex-kitten named Daddy.

Got around to watching the whole season and what a absolute turd slide.

At this point I'm wanting a story where Sauron just decimates all of Rings of Power Middle Earth.

There isn't a single likable character.

The Numenoreans story, garbage, The focus on Disa with the dwarfs makes those parts insufferable, Elf's with their wisdom and long life, bickering like children, the writers making a effort to make the audience feel sympathy & empathy for Orc's, what the fuck :messenger_tears_of_joy:.

Get rid of these characters,

List goes on but I will leave that for another post.

Who are the writers and producers making this show for, besides the few parts (and I mean very few) this doesn't feel like a story in middle earth.

At the end of episode seven, during the credits they have this shit playing,

This just isn't a song for Tolkien's work. New Age, Nu Metal cheese.

I know it's different writing for a series than a movie/film, but all these filler characters that just seem forced on the audience is overboard. So many stories and each one isn't going to have anything good about them.

The whole ring forging felt anticlimactic, when it literally should have been something more grand.

This is your typical 21st century story telling. There is nothing subtle, there isn't a part that makes you think or connect things, they spell out everything to not confuse or make the audience think. The bar is set so low now and days that some people think this is good story telling.
