The MK Foundation charitable organization has purchased 100 Volkswagen Transporter vans for Ukrainian border guards using funds provided by S.T.A.L.K.E.R. video game developers and e-sports companies.
It is noted that the MK Foundation does not collect donations. All forms of assistance are provided by partners, including S.T.A.L.K.E.R developers and e-sports companies NAVI and Maincast.

Seems a little weird that The Stalker 2 developer has this much cash on hand when they are two years behind schedule and last preview I watched said the game was really in a rough state.

Are they backed by some billionaire?
I was thinking the same thing.

If I remember correctly, there was a campaign in which all the money made by S.T.A.L.K.E.R. purchases was to be donated to Ukraine.
I can't find anything about it right now, but maybe that's what came out of it?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

The game is behind schedule because a bunch of developers working on it were fighting in the IRL war, it wasn't because of lack of funds or backing.

I understand they want to help out but Stalker 2 is not Call of Duty or Genshin Impact. This purchase is probably in the range of 40 to 50 million Euros.
That would be a zero too much
more like 4-5 million €

With that many cars they probably got a small discount too.
but still it is a lot of money

Couldn’t you be bothered to read the thread title that shows it isn’t just the STALKER devs that put money towards the vehicle purchases? There are other companies cited there, and there’s no breakdown of the % contributed from each entity.

Can’t fault them for their decision to contribute. It’s their country, and most of the developers are not mobilizing for the war.

Imagine thinking they’re dipping into game development funds to buy these vans.

Where is the money coming from then? The linked article says essentially nothing.

Honestly I don’t care, I was going to buy the game anyway. I had assumed with all the delays they must be running out of money. I can’t imagine Cossacks and Stalker games generate much revenue anymore for GSC and I think they have like 300 Employees.

I also can’t imagine anyone pre ordering the game with the constantly missed launch dates.

From the billions of US tax dollars that are being sent over there probably.

Fleet car are generally much cheaper, plus its probably cash from the console version of that first Stalker trilogy, which was probably pretty cheap to make it
