Are they still planning to release a 9th gen native version?
Was supposed to be in September I think.

Great idea friends. We're very well known for our highly modable survival game, STALKER. We should make a sequel to this with least modable engine in gaming industry. As challenge to our fans. Meanwhile, as mindgame, we add modding as a feature to the console version of our games. This will truly make our fanbase and modders the strongest in industry. Much like being in the zone, you must adapt and overcome.

Nah this looks awesome for console owners. Seems like it's only textures right now, but if once you get into changing the weather, damage values and loot? Then you're cooking. If you're raw dogging any of these with default damage values, you're a true child of the zone and I commend you.

I've never played any of the games. do most people mess with damage values to make it easier?

I was looking for a new game to kill time on my switch when flying and stuff, and the trilogy seems promising

is vanilla was brutal with PC controls, can't imagine playing it on a switch lol

There are mods for all tastes, but the most popular make gun damage realistic for enemies and players. For me it makes it easier overall, but you have to play a lot slower. You can get one shot occasionally by a random bullet. I'm sure Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky in this release are far from the unmodded state I played them in near PC release, so they're probably all pretty solid in terms of the QoL stuff modders fixed on PC. These are some of my very favorite games of all time. Recommend whole heartedly if the ports are solid.

The thing about STALKER is the gameplay and sandbox are so emergent that you can really game around having a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard.

I would bet that the weight limit mod is the most popular one. I really struggled with the limit when replaying the first game, but to be fair I'm a hoarder with games offering tons of free loot so it's difficult to change my habits. ;)

Who knows, maybe I'll install it when I'll be replaying Clear Sky, as long as it won't lock the achivements.

Nice, will trophies stay activated when playing modded?
Also any news on the "next-gen" patch for PS5 / Series?

Are the mods pretty much just skins or more than that?

Thinking about picking this up on my switch, but it doesn’t look like it has mod support

Do yourself a favour and play it on PC where it's meant to be played. Many of the recommended mods are far more than skins, most of them include critical bug fixes.

This is the best guide for deciding which mods to use:

I'm a bit surprised, because if I remember correctly Sony (unlike MS) didn't want to allow mods on the PS5. Guess that changed?
